Functionality and “Sound Content” are amazing tho.
Just curious, has Plugin Guru ever shown us any would be or could be designs of the next major build ?
Similar VSTs that do the stacking / layering thing, New Sonic Arts Freestyle 2, this UI looks incredible, but I do prefer the immediacy of Unify vs. the modular view of Freestyle 2. They both do very similar things in general. Any idea's if Plugin Guru is getting close to a new UI yet ?

I bought Synth Motions Vol 1 for Unify and spend some time going through the patches. Very nice! The Unify layerd patches are really nice and musically useful for the styles I work in. It's very versatile because it comes with a set of Unify patches for each individual multi-sampled "core" sounds. The other 128 patches use the "core" samples for really nice layered sounds. And you get all the raw sample wavs. On sale for $17 USD with the current 40% discount with code PSSUMMERSALE40 just to make it easier for you. They also have the same presets for other synths like Serum, Pigments, Avenger, and others. I think the Unify one is the most versatile.

Yeah I'm a fan of the Synthmotions presets. I think I own almost all of them, their Avenger stuff is good too.

Ah! That explains it: When I installed Synth Motions I saw I also had "PSD Planet Pluck" and wondered why both Synth Motions started with PSD. Now I know! Planet Pluck is awesome as well!

Hey guys - a bit of a silly question I know, but I've been wanting to get into Unify for ages in one way or another. If you were to start off from fresh, where would you start?

Heh. I'm a big fan of Johns work so I bought it on day one. I always loved the concept. Just never took the time to get into it.

I believe Unify's primary point of sale is it's ability to intuitively organize patches across many synths/samplers,tagged and categorized the way *you* want to do so -- within single daw-agnostic tool. Similar in concept to BigTick's Zen. Secondary, unify encourages "meta patches" with multiple "swim lanes" that can include upstream midi arps, multiple synth layers, and downstream fx chains (inline or send). The entire project was very well thought out and implimented bug free.

I know this can also be done in Bitwig, but then your effort is locked therein. I personally find Unify more intuitive and more comprehensive in things that matter. For instance if your preset collection gets overwhelming or you devise a better organization scheme, you have the option to export all your patch meta-data to "presets.csv", batch process it, then import it back in. I don't know if Bitwig supports that.
