What's your favorite synth for ambient music?

This is a nice little freebie geared to ambient (although often dissonant) sounds:

But the developer is a douche. He advertised and sold (to me, grrr) a discounted pre-order price on a new plugin--when it was actually ready, he had it on sale for ten dollars fewer than the pre-order price. He told me to be consoled in that I was funding his work. I got the feeling he got some psychopathic glee out of playing me. Piss on him and his products.
