I'm at my wits end about this..Clicks and pops, even channel dropout - usually the right channel, just as often it's both. Sometimes barely 15 seconds into a tune.
I've got the latest drivers, downloaded and installed again. Did a fresh install of Cubase. HD is in dma mode; soundcard is on it's own irq; dma buffer is set insanely high at 1024.
What's wild is, none of my other sequencers give me clicks and pops, and certainly no channel dropout.

hi, what first comes to mind: did you choose the correct asio driver in cubase?

yes, using the delta asio driver.
(that's always the first thing that comes to my mind, too)

I've got the latest drivers
Could that be the problem?
It probably won't hurt to try out some older drivers...

yeah, forgot to mention I'm using w2k, it's in standard mode. Thanks for the link to the knowledge base, I'll check it out.

I've tried that, too!

just tried again in sx, a tune with 6 audio tracks and 4 vst tracks. 15 seconds in, both channels popped and went silent.
imported 12 audio tracks of a tune into tracktion. played flawlessly.
wtf is going on!

But his other music apps work fine. If it was something like that, I'd say IRQ problem maybe too.

Well, we can check for a corrupt install of Win2k. Do you have 2 drives? Do a fresh install to the other drive, install the drivers fresh, install Cubase fresh, do you get pops then? If so... hmm... if not, then at least we know we have a corrupt install of the OS. AFter the install, we can simply change the boot.ini on the C drive to point back to your old install and get back to where you were.

yeah, I was sort of thinking of backing up important stuff, and just wiping everything out and starting over. amazing how stuff just piles up over the course of a year.
