That would be the Microwave that does that.. The XT even has settings to make it 'worse'..El°HYM wrote: Sun Aug 04, 2024 6:26 pm I heard that Blofeld aliases quite a bit and has a good PPG - digital - filter.
The Blofeld is pretty crystal clear and 'high end' compared to the whole M family (got both next to each other)..

The MW Rev A aliases better than the Blofeld.

Took me way too long to realize I just needed the Microwave II ROMs. This sounds fantastic and it's much lighter on resources than the Viruses - Ableton and a M1 Max MBP still don't play nice with it so I've got to dial up the internal buffer to 8 (with a 48K/64 sample interface buffer) but latency is only 10ms (vs. 30+ with the Viruses). Logic Pro X seems to handle the emulations much better, should be able to get the internal buffer down to 2 or 4 in that.

OK, so I found the two Microwave 2 two BIN files on the net and placed them in the folder with the Xenia dll but it still doesn't work. I went on Discord and read the instructions, which tell me to do exactly what I've already done. Looks like it isn't going to work for me, I don't know if it's a problem with the Rom files that I used but they were the only ones I found. I used to own a Microwave 2 and only sold it because of some serious bugs and I never owned these Rom files, so I don't know how anyone who still owns a Microwave 2 and can't find these files is supposed to use this emulation.Garrincha wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2024 1:56 pmXenia works different in that regard from Vavra. That file that you used is only an update for a hardware MWII/XT and it is missing some parts of the code. The ROM you need are actually two bin files. With a hardware MW this is in two chips. Your MIDI-file (update) only contains code for one of the two. That's why it doesn't work for you.Arcvidean wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2024 1:40 pm Hmmm' I don't think so. I got Vavra to work using the equivalent .mid file for the Micro q so it should work...but didn't. I'm still open to the idea that I'm doing something wrong though, thanks for suggesting Discord I'll look into it.
Arcvidean.
So you need two ROM-files, otherwise it wouldn't work.
Anyway thanks for everyone's help.

Considering Waldorf probably does visit this forum, as well as the DSP56300 devs, it might be wise to respect their rules in regard to this and not post this information where it might get someone in trouble for copyright/trademark violation.
Especially considering they asked Waldorf directly about it, and Waldorf has already said they do not and will not support or endorse this effort. If people don't know what to do, that's on them, they can go to the Discord for support. If they don't own their own XT to pull the ROMs themselves, even more tough luck..

The issue is I have the two rom files pulled from the Microwave 2, they are where they should be and it doesn't work. No need to get self rightious.

That dark one looks cool, almost like a 'MW2' version of the XT heh.
Turn all the green and red into teal, make the big red knob black, and you got the Shadow XT like the one above.

All these posts are about the emulator right? I’m staying away from that thing. Still have an actual MW XT right next to me.
Anymore news on the Waldorf teaser?

Nope.
Typical 2024 marketing: Do a non-telling teaser, let people speculate about what it could be, and then, after a month, release something which may or may not resemble remotely what people have speculated about.
I wouldn't do it that way, but, obviously, that's what people want these days, otherwise they wouldn't do it like that.
