Blue3 is a fantastic product. I understand the need to progress. I do hope that all will benefit from this development.

Cherry Audio is so weird. Such a strong start with VM, and the initial standalone releases seemed to be successful as well. Then they implemented the NFR rule and seemingly put VM in maintenance mode. Now I barely even see anyone talking about their Discount Arturia releases unless they're free. Glad I offloaded my VM stuff while I still could.

I assume you'll be changing the name to avoid confusion with Rob Papen's Blue 3 ? That's the plugin I immediately thought of when I saw the thread title.

Voltage Modular was just updated a few days ago to version 2.9.2 on 6/27/2024Greenstorm33 wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2024 7:11 pm Cherry Audio is so weird. It's more like a DAW than a plugin, it's job is to manage the audio and MIDI moving into, around and out of it and act as a host for the thousands of available modules that are designed by both Cherry Audio and third party developers
Compared to other similar offerings it's very stable and very CPU efficient
I will never understand this weird fetish people seem to have about selling old software they paid $100 for, to people online for $40
If money is that tight, you are that broke and you don't see the value in buying the software where it's worth the asking price simply don't buy it

Maintenance mode as in not getting any substantial feature updates. DAWs aren’t static either, they continue to improve. It’s also dead last in their product listing and not featured on their home page which I think is telling. Either way I don’t want to support a company that changes their license terms out from under people. However common that may be these days.IvyBirds wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2024 4:51 pmVoltage Modular was just updated a few days ago to version 2.9.2 on 6/27/2024Greenstorm33 wrote: Mon Jul 01, 2024 7:11 pm Cherry Audio is so weird. Presumably, the "Legacy" title implies at these being the last available installer versions developed by GG Audio (and the version numbers are the same as was supplied by GG Audio, in their previous statement about the migration to Cherry Audio).
I would guess that any future updates of these plugins would be branded as Cherry Audio, with their own installers and activation system. Perhaps the "Legacy" also hints that future Cherry Audio updates of these two plugin maybe not being backwards-compatible with the GG Audio releases?
But that is just supposition, until we know for sure. I don't really have much to base that on.
I know u-he re-branded Zebra 2 as Zebra Legacy, as a way to distinguish it apart from their upcoming Zebra 3 which they have confirmed will not be backwards-compatible with v2 / Legacy.
But then again, Rob Papen recently resurrected Albino 3 as Albino 3 Legend, which is backwards-compatible.
We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Hmm I have not seen that email and I communicated with them back in March. Was the link a unique link?

I got the email, it just says either create an account on the Cherry Audio site or if you have an existing account then Blue 3 will be available for download. I already had a Cherry Audio account so the installer download was available in my account when I logged in.JonSolo wrote: Mon Aug 12, 2024 2:19 am Hmm I have not seen that email and I communicated with them back in March. Same for me, the only visible parameter in the confirmation link is my email address - I suppose it's the one i used to buy Blue 3.seangm wrote: Mon Aug 12, 2024 5:13 am I already had a Cherry Audio account so the installer download was available in my account when I logged in.

I have Blue3 Legacy listed in my Cherry Audio account now but not Spin. Looking at my serials I actually only have one for Blue and in my emails I can't find a receipt for Spin (but the existing GG Audio Spin plugin is definitely registered on this machine to me) ... am I misremembering it or did you get Spin for free if you bought Blue back in the day and you used the same serial ?
