Much longer ago, by as much as 9 years and I believe it was a "Sony Oxford" repGamma-UT wrote:There's this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aufcxFhiUx0electro wrote:I remeber reading years ago Oxford Inflator was meant to be post limiter.
But he's using the Limiter as an effect here not as a peak catcher. Not having a limiter after that lot to catch overs does not seem wise.

you guys are all retarded. the Inflator is nothing more than a single band waveshaper. that's it.

If you post a sample that is dry then processed with Inflator, I'll be happy to match it.xtrax wrote:I think that nothing comes close to Inflator.

Now there's Kraftur, which is by Soundtheory, makers of Gulfoss. I'm I wrong that Kraftur is something like a multiband - singleband blending version of Oxford Inflator?

Total thread necro. +3pts!
I'd go with PuffPuffMixPass. I've replaced Inflator with it.

I'm seeing it for $69, did you see it for cheaper than that? Inflator is on sale for $28 and Sonnox just started allowing machine authorization.
My mistake.

That is the intro price for Kraftur, I have and like it a lot, tho I tend to use the Korneff plugin
more for it's utility and this great fuzz it can impart if wanted. They are both worth a demo imo...
*An alternate UI is in the works for the Korneff plugin since some complained about the puff ball.
*Kraftur has had some bug fixes since release and is working great seemingly. There was some
debate as to whether or not Kraftur uses linear phase crossovers or not over at that other
forum heh, the dev wound up getting into an argument with a guy and hasn't really been back.
They claim that they are linear phase, but folks are skeptical, it doesn't seem to add any latency
at any rate.

Pretty sure he was referring to Inflator in regards to coming close to Inflator (and being available for peanuts right now)

Thanks. I think you’re right. I thought he was referring to the Kraftur post.

Yeah, I must wholeheartedly endorse the JS Inflator plugin, it's a perfect duplicate of the Sonnox Inflator's function, and it runs both with built-in oversampling AND at 64-bits, which the original does not.
