Hi
I recently heard the demos from "Imperfect Samples" (Steinway Walnut Grand) is this someone actually playing a real piano ? or are these the samples themselves. Because this is the most authentic sampled piano I've "ever heard" is it for real ?

Those are the samples. The samples are good if you like to do solo piano stuff. They can be pretty hard to use on your multitrack mix since they are recorded wet. And yes, the quality is good, but like what i said before it's limited since it's wet.

Wet as in with effects? Or are they just roomy or something?

You can turn the reverb off, wet in a way that it's recored as it is. I can hear some other sound besides the piano note, not in a bad way, but in a realistic way. The intro for my song here uses the white baby grand sample from them, only compression applied. http://soundcloud.com/etoil3/demo-4

As i said these samples are unbeatable, the best I've ever heard.
If Imperfect Samples could create a Bosendorfer, Steinway D and Yamaha C7, using the same quality samples as they have with their current pianos, they would surly be the best out there, and profit considerably.
btw, that demo sounded terrible.

I'm dreaming that Imperfect Samples will do an updated version of Art Vista's Malmsjo myself.

I just saw an advert about an AI remastering of IS Fazioli. Does anyone know if this is an official follow-up version?
It's strange that it's being offered on the website of a German music school. On the other hand the website looks really good.
Thanks in advance
