Voted!
A brief explanation: As in the last round, I found it incredibly difficult to award points. After my first evaluation, I had an incredible 11 candidates on my 5-point list. After a second round, there were still 10! After almost 2 hours of moving the candidates back and forth, I unfortunately had to downgrade some of the entries, as there can only be 5 winners. In the end, I still decided on six 5-point candidates.
It's really important for me to emphasize that these 11 candidates definitely deserved to win! And it was a really, really close decision, which I really struggled with and I'm very sorry because the ranking isn't a bit more flexible, without wanting to start a new discussion.
To all participants: Good work!!!

I voted. I'll think a bit more. Maybe. Will attempt to comment more.
Feedback is so problematic as some actually really don’t want to hear negative stuff while others genuinely do and almost no one specifies these things. I'm a pretty bluntly honest person IRL but occasionally love something I made enough that hearing critical feedback is only frustrating so I understand others not wanting that. (Usually I personally don't mind at all. Definitely don’t mind this month).

Hmm, might be worth a comment in the track description for those that welcome all feedback. I have noticed some folk doing that in the past.

I have voted - and commented on all tracks. Note: I only give my top 3 fives.
I assume everyone is ok with a bit of feedback. It's part of the game. I try to be polite as possible - and point out it's only my opinion/taste. Although it does help when someone says "be brutal - I really want to learn" - then I will give extra attention.

I have now completed voting too. I think SEM was one of the better synths we have used recently. I only wish it had 2 things a retrigger option so we could get consistent kicks out of it and maybe that it was poly.
I think everyone did a good job again this round and was surprised we only had 33 entries this time as previous Cherry Audio synths we have had many more but maybe they didn't advertise the challenge this time?
I only commented on those tracks which I hope I added to the conversation with helpful feedback.

For some reason this synth just sounded really good to me. As a relative newbie, I can't really put my finger on what it is that makes it sound much different than other subtractive synths.
The only synth that I've disliked its sound was Triple Cheese which has a completely different synthesis algorithm.
So my question for the group is - what is it that makes a soft synth sound good or not?

I think the kicker for me was the group discovery of how good the short delay sounded so I took that and ran with it. Funny you mention Triple Cheese: I've chosen that as one of my two synths for #186 as the sound and synthesis method intrigue me.

That's me done voting. Another great round: such great sounds from such a simple synth.

I agree it sounded good. Even aside from the karplus delay hack. No idea why. Probably the programmers don't even know. In fact they may not even realize it's good. They're giving it for free and didn't bother to advertise the OSC this time. (Or maybe realized introducing buyers to a source of endless free stuff was a bad idea.)

Done a quick vote, just back from holds in Crete. No clouds, 32c-36C, good beaches and pools.
But ... someone gave me COVID on the plane so was ill for a few days of my well earned break. Got the "new" symptom when you don't know whether to sit or pray! Both are wrong - also, cooling down from 38.8C temp was tricky as well as having to keep hydrated (for my kidney's sake) and also not relying on drugs to control the symptoms. Wife also got it, of course! Managed to keep way from the rest of the family, so they avoided it, but was a shame as we hired a car for 10 days, but could not all go into it at the same time for fear or spreading the lurgy!
So, just a quick "how I feel" vote rather than an in depth consideration this round (sorry), still very tired and have aches and pains. I do wonder how many people I passed it on to though on the way home?
