Snagged a deal on Erica synths Pico drum 2 on reverb because I just want a small space bd. It does plenty of stuff for a drum synth and now I will have more space for effects. Speaking of which, just watched the intro video on Bruxa and I can't decide if it or Mnimeophon would be better for this delay + + segment of units.

true, although i didnt specifically mean "the mandalorian" tv show, just armour of that ilk.
probably something more boba fett, in that id want more colour, and battle damage. not necessarily boba fett cosplay. just something with character and history.
dins armour always looks pristine

not sure how much longer bruxa is available to order?Constructed Identity wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 6:54 pm Snagged a deal on Erica synths Pico drum 2 on reverb because I just want a small space bd. mimeophon is a more wide ranging delay, bruxa is very crunchy character filled delay (see strega)
that said, mimeophon is probably easier to replace with software post, that bruxa would be?

Still available in the US for pre-order:vurt wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 6:59 pmnot sure how much longer bruxa is available to order?Constructed Identity wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 6:54 pm Snagged a deal on Erica synths Pico drum 2 on reverb because I just want a small space bd. Otherwise, Mimeophon is the one I can’t live without. Strega (and assuming Bruxa) is where I have lots of fun, but would have picked up Mimeophon before Strega/Bruxa if I didn’t have either one. That’s just my personal take…
I see plenty of people on Modwigger that don’t like Mimeophon. I’m guessing they don’t even use pink patch cables, so what do they know?

Mimeophon is such a cool module. I don't often use it as an end of chain effect but it works very well for my purposes. My main issues with most eurorack effects are not enough CV and audio inputs which don't handle feedback very well.
Now that I have it in a rack again, I'm falling in love with Roland's Demora delay again. The Width control is similar to the Zone parameter on Mimeophone but it kinda crossfades the different taps and spreads them across the stereo field. It doesn't have a clock input for the delay by default, but you can add one using the AIRA app. The CV inputs are super high resolution, so they handle audio rate modulation really well.

Yea, it's probably my first choice because of the BBD emulation return, but I don't know if it can do something like this guy does in this video-
I am certainly over-thinking this rack because I can't actually put it together ...
Ordered Behringer Go on Amazon.com where it said they where in stock back on the 29th and they never sent me any notification that they didn't actually have it, now the page says backordered and they have still not communicated anything to me.
Honestly, the only reason I still use them is cash back rewards Visa

Same here. I love my Strega but I'd get the Mimeophon first. It's just all-around great.elxsound wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 7:08 pm Otherwise, Mimeophon is the one I can’t live without. Of course it will do basic end-of-chain stuff very well, with a little extra charm, but it also takes modulation (even at audio rate) like a champ, you can still modulate the delay time while syncing for a bit of doppler effect or modulate the main time input or Zone for tempo-synced jumps, and as a resonator it has a wonderful voice that varies with the Color and Halo settings. I don't even use the Zone stuff much to be honest other than to dial in a range
And honestly right now if it came to a choice between Strega or Elmyra 2, that's a tough one, glad I don't have to choose just one

Congrats!
Do I remember correctly, you bought two of those—one for each hand?
Add some ping-pong delay and a splash of reverb, and that could sound amazing!

My ancient notebook computer only had a single 8GB stick of memory in it. Today, it has a new matched pair of 8GB sticks, for a total of 16GB of memory.
Just before I did the memory upgrade, I did a couple quick tests. I did a raytracing benchmark with POV-Ray. Then, I loaded several Cherry Audio synths into my DAW and took note of the CPU load when I played chords on them all simultaneously.
After the upgrade, there was basically zero change in the CPU-intensive raytracing test. However, I was using roughly 20% less CPU in my DAW after the upgrade! This will let me play significantly more VSTis simultaneously without the system choking under the load.
My system also handles some of my larger Kontakt instruments noticeably better.
At this point, I've upgraded everything that's upgradeable on this old machine. I still want to save money for a newer and faster music computer, but this little update will help make the waiting a bit more pleasant in the meantime.

I bought this fantastical midi controller since they were practically giving it away for a mere $45 or so, and since I needed one and had not been using a controller because my old one is really too big for my current setup. I got 2 new desks, but neither one is suitable for 'easily' mounting sliding keyboard trays onto them.

Very handy, I use mine so I can move my Peak anywhere in the house and play with it.pekbro wrote: Fri Aug 16, 2024 4:09 am I bought this fantastical midi controller since they were practically giving it away for a mere $45 or so, and since I needed one and had not been using a controller because my old one is really too big for my current setup.
