Ha! Woke up this morning and decided to buy a couple of things I added to carts a few days ago. But one that is on sale until the 18th suddenly said it now required a coupon and the other that was supposed to be on sale until Sept. 1st went back to regular price. I let the Organteq pass because it wasn't the discount I expected from them historically and had decided to buy these two instead. Now all three are null and void. Maybe there's a higher power at play here...

Post

I did pick up the Korg Arp 2600 as it's very cool imo, cpu seems perfectly fine 'so far' on my core i5.
The software pass was a bit of a pain to get working, little tip there for win 11 users at least, don't
try to install the SW pass anywhere besides the default if you want the thing to work.

Anyway, worth a demo for anyone interested in the Arp 2600 in software definitely. I bought it
after basically only confirming it would work. Didn't want to spring for the entire collection
for now, hopefully there will be some kind of upgrade path, if not no biggie really, only seriously
interested in a couple items from the collection personally.

Good stuff! :tu:

*Tomorrow is the last day for the sale I believe... I got it direct, tho I prob should have bought it
at plugin boutique and got some points and a buck or two off. Oh well, the process of buying it
played heavily in my efforts to get the SW pass working.

I stopped music making and sold most my plugins some years ago , because of tinnitus, but it got better. So this year I reinstalled my Reaper (that I bought 5-6 years ago and I still get the newest version!) but had not many plugins anymore. So I choose:

Komplete Standard (Massive X and Kontakt are my most important instruments). Very cheap, I think I payed 160€, because of price reductions and I had an older Komplete Select. Incredible value for the price.

Arturia FX Collection 4 (used here on the forum). Only 50€, very good quality, I use them a lot, but I would not pay the full price for this. But I will maybe upgrade to the newest version, if the new plugins will be like the great new EFX line.

Eventide H9 collection for 100€ on sale. Generate for 25€. Very good.

I spent under 100€ on Plugin Alliance plugins. They are good, but not essential. I don't like hardware emulations anymore I think. These I would not buy again.

TDR plugins on sale - Nova, Kotelnikov, Slick M and Molot. Very good.

Some cheaper Kontakt libraries and MIDI stuff (Scaler, Phrasebox and HY-SeqCollection).

I wanted to buy Bitwig and Musio collection, but after demoing I choose not to. Same for Kilohearts and UVI subscriptions.

Now I have enough FX and mixing plugins. I need an additional synth, so I will wait for Zebra 3, I think. Maybe I will upgrade to the next Kontakt Ultimate, if I get a good price. And I want Pianoteq and some Kontakt libraries

I didn’t buy much software this year.

I upgraded to Arturia FX Collection 4 and - I think it was this year? - I bought the “Alicia Keys” Kontakt library. And I upgraded to Live 12 and crossgraded to Spectralayers 10. I don’t remember anything else.

The fact is… I already have tons of software, probably more than needed. Purchases are usually limited to updates/upgrades or the odd thing missing, but it’s hard to excite me with a new piece of software, because I don’t want “one more option to choose from” when I already have too many.
I think this comes naturally once you’ve been making music for years and you’ve managed to accumulate enough software. Also, my preference goes towards hardware nowadays, but I’m slowing down on that side, too (lack of space, overall cost, many needs already covered…)
free multisamples (last upd: 22th May 2021).
