Not a fan of JHS myself, I do have one of these for which my fondness is considerable...
Not really a Rat clone, but similar...

Re: BanTamP, wasn't a fan when I tried them and I didn't like these. Eleca and Wangs make some cheap all-tube amps that you might want to check out.

Re: LunaReclipse, I thought the moon itself was going to be a knob!

Cranking an amp and playing “ Hot Dog “ usually does it for me …
But seriously. Immigrant Song, The Ocean, Out On The Tiles and Dancing Days in particular are great songs to bust out in a guitar shop.

No one expects Dancing Days.

Or The Song Remains The Same mangled on a 12 string :hihi:

Or Rock n Roll ..full tilt with all the fills and the solo also :o 8)
That really wakes up shop staff.

Now eyeballing a Fender Mustang v2 100W digital combo from this demo;
(After all my ranting about digital modelling :ud: :P :hihi:
But Fender do digital Fender well tbh.
And I wanna save my bad back.
I like they have a Sears Silvertone type amp in there plus a Hiwatt Vox and a Marshall :hyper:
Ill take it for a spin today :hyper: :tu:

Just get their tone master pro pedal from them for a mere what $1.7k
You should prob just pick something already, since your hunt will never end,
even after that...

*Another thing to check out it the THR series from Yamaha, they are really pretty good.
I had one but gave it away since I wasn't really using it. I had the THR10X...

Awesome. :o I need one now how mucho $?
I like the mix that kept the clean signal in with the fuzzstortion. Sounds like 2 guitars together
And love simple 1 or 2 knob pedals.

Tested a bunch of my old pedals pedals yest with another drummer. the Joyo British sound will go today ,not very useful. Boss DS1 is a gem!
new Joyo Tauren is very useable. ModTone Tremelo great also. Holy choir chorus has limited sounds may return that and get a Boss.

Picking up a ‘Tone City Mickey’ RAT-clone today for $60 yip :tu:

Oh mate .. its NEVER ending  :hihi:
It’s full OCD now.
Seriously I reckon I’ve had over 200 pieces of gear at this point. :dog: maybe 20+ amps.
Tbh it may indeed be “user error” with me. :ud:
Yeah I have good exp playing the newer mustang in a pawn shop 6 months ago ,almost bought on the spot but they asking too much.

Fingers crossed this used one is good working condition now.

Btw why the fk is the TMP pedal $1.7k???
I saw it in a shop the other day never heard of it before then tbh.

That particular pedal is no longer sold unfortunately, maybe a used one, tho fuzzrocious
is prob not widely knows amongst the general guitarist...

Bummer. I’ll keep an eye. How much did u pay anyway as an aside…

Ideally my pedalboard would look like a bunch of these. ( and preferably all batt-op also :hihi: ) Plus a wah wah & volume.that’d be it.

https://www.guitarpedalx.com/news/gpx-b ... nob-pedals

I gotta put some serious time into how to chain pedals and use certain pedals in sequence for each part of a song ( 101 stuff I know)

Eg Bernard Butler from the old UK band Suede. :tu:
He did great stuff with 4-5 pedals ( and his awesome AC30s) Like 5 pedals to give textures for
intro ( phaser/flanger) verse (chorus), chorus (RAT or Turbo Dist) and then solos and outros (other)

Graham Coxon of Blur and Johnny Marr also my favourites. Coxon uses some cool old jap pedals for signature parts. The Shin-E hurricane 8)

My new drummer loves grunge and alt rock.
we’ve been trying “show me how to live” by Audioslave.
I tried my Aria LP copy (meh) then watched a live version on YT w Tom Morello on his Tele.
Hes a great inspiration .gets a ton of mileage from just a few key pedals and using the volume pots and pu selector.

Great rockin song and music video too that Audioslave one.

It *can* end. Usually you just need to focus on the ultimate version of what you want and go for it. There aren’t that many kinds of great tones out there, after all. Even with my awesome Tonex + tube bass amp setup, I usually end up dialing in the same few tones.
