Holy McShite his resume/profile is insanely impressive. I had no idea the dude was responsible for so many designs. Wow.gentleclockdivider wrote: Mon Aug 19, 2024 5:48 pmAlmost all waldorf synth designs are from Axel Hartmann , the guy is a legend

I didn't forgive him for Andromeda though. But it was the nineties...

Why do they obstinate with skeuomorphic things like reflections and shadows? We haven't had a decent plugin in more than 20 years, except maybe FabFilter? No one is Playing the UX game except them.
The problem with digital audio is not audio nowadays, what a strange world we live in.
I feel like a compulsive alien being embarrassed by reflective knobs and screws and weird angles within a computer, this feel unconceivable for me but that's the commonplace it seems, I know for sure we will laugh at this in a near future.
This new Microwave should have been my GoTo, they were there 95%, and screwed at the very end.
Just imagine military software with screws and shadows, this would be absolutely unacceptable.
I really hoped for Waldorf to be at the cutting edge of interaction, but i'll have to wait more.

Because they are a profit seeking commercial enterprise who seeks to make money, and the overwhelming vast majority of plugin buyers like those things?Rivertropic wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 10:13 am Why do they obstinate with skeuomorphic things like reflections and shadows?
But it's not military software it's a consumer product being sold for money to consumers who want screws and shadowsRivertropic wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 10:13 am Just imagine military software with screws and shadows, this would be absolutely unacceptable.

So when you ask for technical Advise in here, you are getting schooled by consumers.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

It's hilarious. We don't even know if this is actually how it looks yet. It probably is but even so, it could just be an internet fake given how much of the UI is, apparently, just a sea of knobs.Rivertropic wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 10:13 am Why do they obstinate with skeuomorphic things like reflections and shadows? But they did a flat interface for Largo2. Which led to a load of whingeing about how it looked "amateurish" etc.
So maybe this one has shadows in response. But the best part is someone who apparently really wants a Microwave emulation. But won't use it because...checks notes...it has some pretend shadows on it.
I think they should have done a job like Sonic Charge's on that old Yamaha sampler where you have to program the darn thing through a fake two-line LCD and a row of buttons. Lets see how purist people are about that.

All I know is that VST's with fake wood end cheeks sound better.

Nah they need to make a plugin that you can only program from another computer using a GUI right out of Windows 95. That's the only way you can make an actual emulationGamma-UT wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 2:45 pm I think they should have done a job like Sonic Charge's on that old Yamaha sampler where you have to program the darn thing through a fake two-line LCD and a row of buttons. The programmer software should also give you a blue screen of death at random unpredictable times just to keep the experience authentic

Was the Microwave particularly crashy? That's more the experience you want for a true Ensoniq emulation.IvyBirds wrote: Tue Aug 20, 2024 2:59 pmNah they need to make a plugin that you can only program from another computer using a GUI right out of Windows 95.
