I'm quite tempted by the Endorphin.es Ghost Pedal after watching a few demos:

Already have a Hydrasynth Deluxe plus the original 49 key version in storage upstairs that I keep meaning to sell so when a used Hydrasynth Explorer was going for £300 I succumbed.
I keep telling myself it will be a great little machine for making presets on the sofa.
Told myself that about the Modal Cobalt8 too. Number of presets made so far: zero.

Would I even be into music gear if I didn’t know how to lie to myself convincingly?

That each channel can be a separate sample makes me think I could swap out my 1010 Micro for this though.
That's quite interesting. Wonder what its based on, platform-wise. Tesseract stuff is pretty good value for the money, wonder how this would compare to the new O&C pricewise.
The Tesseract website has it for 400 euro. For that price I think I’ll wait until the new O_c iterations appear. Think having 4 or even 8 sets of those apps available in the size of one module would be fantastic for smaller cases.

Scored a like-new Virus TI2 desktop. Now, I just have to force myself to part with my Polar TI2.

Ouch, that's way more than I would have thought. Im with you on the new O&C, I reckon. Have thought about lobbing a Teensy 4.0 into my existing one, but decided there'd no real advantage with the original 4x4 IO count.

I didn't realize the O_c development had moved that far. I built a bunch of them when you couldn't buy an assembled version, there was not kit and you had to get PCBs and panels from separate vendors... I still have two (as well as a Temps Utile) and love them but never got along with anything other than the original firmware.
I'll look at the new developments. Are the same people involved? I only know them as mxmxmx and pld, lol.

I was considering the eurorack module for a while, but that layout is a bit chaotic… the pedal is nicely arranged and very clean.

I could see doing this with the TEO-5. My System-1 would probably be perfect for that but I'm just not inspired by its sound (which I why I mostly use it as a controller).

Not that much any more. Development for a long time seemed to mostly come from the alternate firmware side, ie Hemispheres et al, and now the main drive recently has come from the Phazerville evolution of Benisphere, itself a derivative of Hemisphere.
With the deprecation of the Teensy 3.x series due to parts supply issues, the dev for Phazerville then seemed to get the impetus going trying to get Teensy 4.x to run. (Teensy 4.0 is a drop-in replacement in terms of footprint, but there were specific low-level hardware differences that needed working around.)
Then the actual Teensy dev got involved...
From what I understand his help has meant that on most recent Phazerville version, the Teensy 4.0 is a completely supported drop-in replacement. However, on top of that, its him who is basically doing the development of the new O&C version, based on the Teensy4.1, in conjunction with the Phazerville dev.

I just found a B-Stock Ghost Pedal at Thomann for £385 and ordered it. :)

I'm going to Knobcon 2024!
There I will be inundated with gear to try and who knows...

I feel your pain. I have quite a few synths that I told myself would be great for diddling about with on the sofa. Opsix, Wavestate both lightweight and small enough. DX100 fits the bill prefectly. TD3, oh yeah. Even the MS20 can do that too. The AlphaJuno was quite useful for that (if it would work). So you know what ended up on the coffee table for me to diddle about with after the missus has gone to bed? The fkn UBXa that I got, which is the heaviest, most unweildy least likely sofasynth I could imagine. My legs are paralysed after I've had it in my lap for an hour or two :dog:. It's funny how one tells oneself all kinds of stuff that one ignores. Maybe I should get a grand piano for the sofa next :hihi:

I was very tempted to buy one of those last year. It has a lot going for it, ended up getting the Planetarium but I am still looking at videos of multi effects petals like the Ghost and the new Chroma console. I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of petals though.

Somehow having that guy as the designer of some piece of HW, doesn't really interest me at all. Though, I'm sure it's fine.

I don’t think he’s so much a designer and more wanted a specific end of chain option.

The Eurorack version has the compressor built in. Plenty of ways to overdrive and then add more distortion. The distortion breaks up nicely too.

The effects are all available separately but in 6hp modules they’re horrible to work with once patched, assuming they’re side-by-side like how I had them before.

looks like the same problem happens on their Ghost module.

The pedal should be nice to work with and I’m betting it sounds great.
