Yeah I get it, my friend has his own signature fender and I don't even want one of those.
If I could get the ones they make for him, that would be a different story. Some of the
signature stuff is nice like that saddiq guitar. I came pretty close to getting the jeff beck
strat, but not because of his name, I am a fan though.

It's strange imo, some of the signature stuff must have the exact opposite of the
the intended effect. No doubt any signature item is a gamble for manufacturers.

Yea those are interesting, particularly due to the scalloped frets or whatever. Never seen
one in person, so no option to demo it.

I got the J Mascis Squier JazzMaster because it’s an absolute bargain and probably my favourite guitar to play. That I also love J and Dinosaur Jr is just a nice bonus.

An extremely modest acquisition, but based on a discussion/recommendation from @justin3am earlier in the thread to another user, I picked up a Nektar NX-P Expression Pedal to go with my Argon8. Since Argon8 was discussed recently in another thread, I thought I'd throw that out there and say thanks for pointing out the expression pedal, it really adds a lot to the performance capabilities of the Argon8. I'm a bit of believer in amplifying the capabilities of what you already have rather than adding a thousand disparate pieces of gear, so much appreciated.

Not buying any pedals anytime soon (budget spoken for) but what’s the difference in sound between that one and say the Big Muff Pi Hardware Plugin pedal?

Big Muff should have been one of my first pedals, but there’s the different versions that always stopped me from buying. I’m going to come back to that when the budget changes.

They should sound about the same. They're both Ram's Head circuits.

Big Muff should have been one of my first pedals, but there’s the different versions that always stopped me from buying.

Cheers but I’m doing all my amp sim and guitar fx in the box. Also I don’t imagine shipping gear from the US to the UK is smooth or cheap.

Wavefolders tend to get pretty inharmonic/dissonant with chords, so maybe not what most guitarists are looking for… but on bass guitar, monosynths and drum machines, they can sound awesome! A company called Crowther Audio made a pedal called Prunes & Custard, that I’m pretty fond of. I made a pedal out of a Lockhart wavefolder (the middle section of the Serge Wave Multipliers) and it pairs so well with a filter with an envelope follower. The thing goes insane with even a little feedback.

Hydrasynth Explorer just arrived. All keys, knobs, aftertouch etc works perfectly. Real bargain for £300. This will probably replace my Keystep as my daily driver keyboard for my desk when I don’t want to rearrange things to be able to use the keys on my big stand.
Definitely could be that elusive sofa keyboard as it weighs far less than the Cobalt8, though not light.
