To be fair, I can’t spot which one is which. Seems they did a pretty good job at recreating the hardware version.
Here too:

Does the plugin seriously not have a decent sound browser, but only a rudimentary drop-down list? (27:58) :?

For others like me who prefer to browse presets with arrow keys, I've found that once you bring up a pull-down menu, you can use up and down arrows to move through the presets in the menu, then use the right arrow key to select. (I don't think this is documented in the manual?)

Would love to see a more feature filled preset browser in future updates.
Then I actually had the right instinct.

Well, that's pretty bad for a plugin from 2024. U-he showed how to make a really good sound browser.

I''ve gotten the factory sounds to import fine on the waldorf website, but I have a pack from > sonic freaks that will not workhttps:// for some reason, his patches just default to the factory banks, anyone have this issue yet ? I'm wondering if there may be others that have this issue, when going from the hw to the new sw plugin. It looks like these patches are for firmware 2.0 on the mw 1

What brings it to the table what other synths can't deliver?

That was my thought too, considering it's a brand new plugin. And even some of Waldorf's more recent offerings have at least had rudimentary browsers, so it is a little surprising.

Not the end of the world though, and it looks (and sounds) to be a pretty great plugin otherwise.

I stay with my U-He stuff because of its browser.

So a bunch of guys and gals are complaining about the sound browser in a plugin known for its sound.

Classy.

Spare me the "we only suggested improvement" farce of a typical KVR armchair product expert.

By your logic, everyone should make a copy of the U-he browser. Until some other buffoon realize some other product has a "better" browser and then we go in a circle all over again.

Meh...

Next in line: it doesn't have a sidechain or a duck to kill, then it is something about oversampling, then a bit of copy protection drama and lastly it goes like the company is evil because transfer policies are not what I want them to be :hihi:

Yeah exactly. Why would you rate a sound module (aka synth) where you supposedly make a sound - by sounds it can make

when in fact you can rate it and stick with it by valuing how it works with a series of letters.

Oh, I waited so long to ask this:

Point me to at least one song/track/album that didn't make it up in the charts because it didn't have U-he browser :scared:

pretty sure Urs is reading this thread and known for his legendary humor he is laughing (just my speculation)

You forgot the ownership drama, subscription novela and the anti capitalist atitude.

Nobody can hear your browser on Spotify.

By the way: browsers are for preset sl*ts

That's the same issue I had when I bought his patches for the M (which reads Microwave I patches). It's the patch-format that the original MW reads, but the import routines of the M not.

YOu can either patch one bit in the syx-file with an hex-editor or you can write him and he sends you the patches in a format, that will work. IIRC it had something to do with the card-format.

Anyway: I just tried this bank and the original version doesn't load in the plugin (same as with the M), but the converted version he sent me does work perfectly with the plugin.

Comparing the same sounds on both - my M and the plugin - is VERY interesting to say the least.
They did a phantastic job with the filter. Actually I like the filters of the plugin more than the real analog ones from the M.

...yes I know they modeled a diferrent chip and that is probably more down to yer ol' CEM vs. SSM debate. But anyway: To me this is the first plugin, that not only sounds very close to the hardware, but plain better than at least a modern recration of the hardware.

Congrats, Waldorf!
If it was not for the "transitions" that I used for many of my sounds used in my projects, I would now sell the M.
The plugin is that good!
