Classy.

Spare me the "we only suggested improvement" farce of a typical KVR armchair product expert.

By your logic, everyone should make a copy of the U-he browser. Until some other buffoon realize some other product has a "better" browser and then we go in a circle all over again.

Meh...

Next in line: it doesn't have a sidechain or a duck to kill, then it is something about oversampling, then a bit of copy protection drama and lastly it goes like the company is evil because transfer policies are not what I want them to be :hihi:
Nothing "meh". The fact is that we live in the year 2024 and no longer in 2000. You should really be able to expect to get a decent sound browser in a plug-in that deserves the attribute "modern". But as it is, it is equipped with a rudimentary function that has nothing to do with comfortable operation.

And as for your strange understanding of logic: Yes, U-he does indeed have an exemplary sound browser, which can also be explained logically (both in terms of searching for sounds and managing them). But you seem to me like the kind of guy who is happy with anything as long as it is usable - no matter how.

And no, I don't know of a better sound browser than the one from U-he. ;-) But even sound browsers from other companies like Arturia or T-AL are a huge step forward compared to the rudimentary, antediluvian drop-down list from Waldorf.

So, that’s it from me in terms of constructive criticism.

Yeah exactly. Why would you rate a sound module (aka synth) where you supposedly make a sound - by sounds it can make

when in fact you can rate it and stick with it by valuing how it works with a series of letters.

Oh, I waited so long to ask this:

Point me to at least one song/track/album that didn't make it up in the charts because it didn't have U-he browser :scared:

I've rarely read something so stupid. :hihi: According to this logic, no vst plugin would need a (sensible) sound browser, because you can just browse through hundreds or even thousands of sounds in a list. :?
For the kmonkeys of this world, I advocate only the most necessary functions in software and foregoing any conveniences that make it as easy to use as possible. :hihi:

BTW: Well, at least I know of a plugin that has a decent sound browser and in which there are two special sounds that helped a band achieve chart success. :D
Do you know that from a plugin with a rudimentary drop-down list? :hihi:

Maybe Urs can "improve" his plugins and equip them all with a state-of-the-art drop-down list, which will definitely save a byte or two. :D

Because this thread has obviously become a train wreck, let's switch over to the adults discussion of this marvel synth emulation:

Comparing the same sounds on both - my M and the plugin - is VERY interesting to say the least.
They did a phantastic job with the filter. Actually I like the filters of the plugin more than the real analog ones from the M.
I also compared some patch from my Waldorf M to the plugin, i also prefer the filter from the plugin ! Damn this might replace the M for me , we will see, need more testing.

EDIT: Found it.

Well, the M has those marvellous Transitions - heritage from the PPG. I have some patches I did with Prophet VS waves and Fairlight samples as well as waves from the PPG original. This is something the plugin can't do and that's the only reason the M will stay for a while. But for everything else - the wavetable-only stuff - I can see myself only using the plugin from now on.

How is the CPU consumption ?

Were the amp envelopes of the original digital ?

Just demoed the trial. Very impressed. Very tempted to buy it. The sound and UI are great. I wish Largo 2 had this much polish. Great job Waldorf.

Enjoying trialling this. The raw sound is great and comes alive with effects. The GUI is a pleasant surprise after Largo 2.

Yes, sloppy digital envelopes which are emulated. See around 9:09 in the deep device video for details.

So might just lose my mind too. :wheee:
Should I say, “I told you so,” no, or wait until later?
