zZounds vs Sweetwater

There are other sites besides Zzounds and Sweetwater. B&H Photo and Thomann have some good deals, Musician's Friend, Amazon and some smaller stores that are good also. Most offer free shipping if you spend over a certain amount.

Beyond Amazon, none of those offer free shipping outside the continental US...

Shipping from the EU is cheaper for me in Hawaii than shipping from the Continental US, which is kind of f*cked up as it stems from pure greed on the part of the US shipping companies.

I finally got around to ordering from Sweetwater and yeah, the service was really good.
Placed the order and got a phone call to confirm everything.
It took a little over a week to get the controller so I called to track the order.
They were very helpful and sent a link so I could track it and saw I missed its arrival by 30 minutes (post office). Doh!
Went back, picked it up and the packaging was top notch. Brand new controller, looks great.
Now just need to make sure it works ok.
Regardless, really appreciate the ordering and delivery service from Sweetwater and do recommend them.

Both are good . I ordered an expensive acoustic guitar off of Sweetwater and it didn't jive. Returned it for the same model and had it setup by them cost me a little money in the setup , but , I also got an e-gift card for $150 and $50 bonus bucks and other discounts when purchasing this item. It was a high dollar guitar . Very very good customer service. I do like Zzounds too .

For things that are super generic, like a midi controller, I would go to the local GC. Vastly easier to return, vastly easier to make sure that you're getting something new and that isn't a return. I get most things from Sweetwater that aren't generic, but not always. I can't give a formulaic process because there are too many factors.
