I have WAV files of speech in English that I want to transcribe to text.
Looking for recommendations for Windows software that can do this that isn't subscription only.
I realise that I will need to tidy up the results manually after the conversion.
Having the ability to batch convert would be useful.
The only software on my radar currently is:
Acoustica Premium 10.5.

I don't know where you are or what kind of phone you have, but Android phone will do this if you pull up a text entry app like Notepad, etc. and hit the tiny tiny keyboard icon to switch it to microphone. It will do speech to text. I'm sure it could do this with an audio file. It's very good at what it does, but I've never been able to get the punctuation part of it. Also no batch convert.

Just press record does a really good job at this. But I realize that you’re saying Windows only. If you have an iPhone, just press record is available. It is free and it does a really good job for me. You’re also able to import audio files into it.
Figured I’d put this here even if someone else ends up searching for something like this.
