Pluginguru Unify has rejuvenated many of my old favourites. Massive, Reaktor ensembles and FM8 load super quickly and patch changes are hardware fast. FM8 and Massive for example sound incredible when dual/ triple layered (I strip the inbuilt FX before saving) and I can flick through my created presets with hardware immediacy. They use almost no CPU on my M1 Mac. Unify keeps the instrument loaded between patch changes as long as you organise libraries by instrument - I’ve found that Reaktor ensembles can be swapped out near instantly as well, so I can layer Razor/Carbon, or Lazerbass/Photone, Kontour/Form etc in the same way.

Recently I found Xpand2! Hybrid and Vacuum have beta versions for native Apple silicon, so I have those reinstalled (couldn’t find my old serial emails, but my iLok account saved the day - quite possibly the first time I’ve ever typed that!!) Like the older NI stuff, layering them up produces some excellent sounds.

z3ta+ and sometimes Rapture. Sylenth1 is starting to get old now too, and I use that once in a while.

Anyway, z3ta+ is still pretty cool and there was an OSC for it one time:

I placed 11th that time. There was too much great competition ahead of my track :)

Hmm, might actually be Zebra 2 though that has seen updates. And I'm not sure if the Logic plugins count, some of the guts of those might be pretty old :)

Was using Reason Subtractor recently. Still sounds pretty awful, filter with high resonance uis horrendous but surprisingly decent 1op FM sounds available. But generally lo fi and underwhelming as it had been for, what, almost 25 years? (No idea how old it actually is but it was a great learning tool before Malstrom came to light)

PG-8X. Because that shit hasn’t been updated in a decade.
