I like Depeche Mode. It is what is played right ? Not what synth. For all I know maybe they played the boring backing sounds on the Waldorf's.
Good for its time now vastly superceded and still ok for purist cheesy synth music demo's with preset drum patterns off a organ or similar etc. Would work ok along side this:

With the smell of dust, stale air, ciggies, whisky, beards and lava lamps, that is what the sound reminds me of. Boring stuff.
But each to their own.
