"Imo by far the best for touchscreen is Tracktion"
While user interface seems "simpler" than most DAWs, Cakewalk's touch "abilities" are much better in my opinion.

Bought a Planar Helium 10-point multi-touch monitor (when multi-touch was first catching on).
Got it because that's what Cakewalk was using (at that time) to optimize Sonar for multi-touch.
It sits in my basement.

You have to be very careful with how you place the multi-touch monitor.
If your arms are extended out/up for hours each day, you're going to suffer from RSI.
If you're going to use one, I'd suggest setting it up at a slight angle (almost flat).

I think multi-touch monitors are great for zooming/scrolling.
For detailed control, I much prefer a mouse/keyboard.

Multi-touch capability gets no respect! :(
I have yet to see multi-touch capability listed as a feature in any plugin. :(

But there are quite a few who have it, so why the sad face?

I would like to know if a plugin is multi-touch capable before purchasing it.
Developers rarely mention if their plugin is MT capable and this is why the :(

I love my multitouch monitor! :)

I'm kinda surprised no one mentioned BrainModular (formerly Sensomusic) Usine Hollyhock
https://www.brainmodular.com/usine.php
Which unlike all of the aforementioned DAWs mentioned really was made for multi-touch from the start.

Tracktion, Studio One, Bitwig and FLstudio all handle touch fairly well.

That's a Viewsonic IFP7550-2 ViewBoard 75" multi-touch monitor 20-touch monitor in the photo, and a smaller 24 inch Planar 10-touch which isn't in that old picture

I usually just end up using Xotopad to talk to DAWs as trying to mouse in notes is pointless and any GUI slider can be assigned to the control in the DAW, like a fader or whatever

Whenever I look at it I get a headache - but that's more the product presentation than the product itself perhaps.

And all the aforementioned DAWs started as DAWs, unlike Usine, which started as kind of a looper for live-performances.
Tracktion, Studio One, Bitwig and FLstudio all handle touch fairly well.
And Sonar too...

I found that my 43" monitor unfortunately is not multi-touch capable and is too big. Because of the size I may use Display Fusion https://www.displayfusion.com/ to subdivide the screen. In the lower half I will have the DAW and the upper what ever is needed.

As for Hollyhock I wish it was available as a plugin.

I love Xotopad but Unfortunely will never be offered as a plugin.

BTW Loomer Architect, Colin I believe promised to have a multi-touch keyboards included.
The new 4DRX in now multi-touch capable.

Usine Hollyhock supports multitouch in various ways - if this fits you definition of a DAW.

I'll have to check Usine out. Looking at this or a Windows gaming console and wondering what I would run on it.

I’m also investigating DAWs that support touch input: Roland Zenbeats (formerly Stagelight) is a serious contender imo.
