Both of your plugins look interesting, but no demo, no refunds, no detailed walkthrough videos, only two short sound examples (sloth even only has one) is a bit too much of a leap of faith imo. Yeah I know, only 20 bucks but honestly you can get pretty cool stuff for 20 bucks these days.

Yeah, I was actually interested in Sloth, but there's just no info out there.

Darkspace, Is Chameleon basically a version of Khz Disperser? And if so, what are the differences?

I fully agree that you can buy a lot of stuff for 20€. One of them being chameleon and sloth. :D

Seriously, fair call and all valid points.

You can now find a video showcasing some examples on how chameleon works. Perhaps that can tip the point.

While Chameleon was definitely inspired by Disperser, it is quite a different beast.
The biggest difference is that with Chameleon you get four plugins:
  • Chameleon 1: 1st order Allpass filter
  • Chameleon 2: 2nd order Allpass filter
  • Chameleon N: Multi-instance 2nd order Allpass filters
  • Chameleon X: Flexible multi-instance 2nd order Allpass filters with a big set of creative controls
With ChameleonX (most likely closest to Disperse) you get quite a lot of options for fine-tuning the specific frequency distribution, like the skew, the width and also how q-values of individual filters are set.
Additionally Chameleon features a responsive state of the art UI.

As you were explicitly asking for Disperser, you might want to check out https://github.com/robbert-vdh/nih-plug ... ns/diopser

A great new developer with an interesting and growing line of handy plugins imo, seemingly working hard to continuously improve his work from the git-go. Having taken an interest in his plugins right off the bat, I have so far, not been disappointed. This latest release was an instant-purchase for me, very much like the first was actually. :tu:

Thanks for the comprehensive reply, DPS. The Chameleon video is very good, very easy to get an understanding of what the product does.

You should definitely a do similar one for Sloth. Would love to hear Sloth against a brittle, jabby/plucky funk guitar or similar source to see if it takes the bite off like a 'British-style' transformer-based pre. I'm perpetually disappointed by transient shapers for this kind of task, and was hoping Sloth might fill the gaps. Would also like to see more crazy/extreme use cases as well.

What you are doing is really creative, and I dig the minimalist UIs. I don't really NEED either of these and I've been battling the urge to buy one-off plugins that may not be supported 5 years from now. But if you came up with a couple more of these novel plugins and rolled them into a bundle, it would be pretty hard to resist. Similar to the Minimal Audio's FX bundle... once Flex Chorus hit, I just couldn't resist it anymore.

Really interested to see what your next product is. Anything in the works right now?

Thanks for the kind words.

The next one in the work will be more of a utility-style mixing plugin. I constantly find myself applying 2-4 plugins for manipulating the stereo imaging of a group or the master, so combining those functions into one plugin will save everyone quite some time when it comes to mixing.

And while we are talking, keytracking for Chameleon is in the works, which will allow for some crazy sound sculpting options.

In that video you can hear zipper noise when automating some parameters, is that something you're looking into to fix?

Interesting, can't wait to see it. Keep up the good work!

There simply is none. If you are interested in the reasons for that, you can find some background information in the FAQ on the website.

No demo. OK. No refund. Hmmm. If you dont offer a demo you should consider offering a refund. It's a best practice. Ironically, I am going to all-pass. I dont want to risk the money at this point.

I can confirm we am working on it.

Cool plugin. The kick drum hint alone 'paid' it for me.

One thing, tho: both Sloth and Chameleon don't show up in Live 12. In Reaper they work.

I can confirm this about Chameleon and live 12, live will see it if you rename the Chameleon.vst3 folder and remove the ".vst3" part. I think live thinks its a vst3 bundle, but finds too many plugins inside.

I've had sloth from day 1, it was always visible to live...
