No that cannot be right. Even if it's outsourced it's Rolands ip, so Roland owns all the code for their plugins. So they cannot blame it on third party. That would just be silly. Think about it for a second. Anything can happen to the third party. You think Roland don't keep triple backups of everything? Comon now.
And code is universal. They could hire anyone to keep working on the code in case one of their sub contractors disappeared.
Jeez guys

They could, it's self evident that they havent done that however...nothing new, nothing updated (still tiny no scalable GUIs, prehistoric browsers etc), obvious bugs not fixed...for years.EfreetiSultan wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:45 pm And code is universal. Either they can't do it for some technical reason or they wont do it (maybe for financial reasons)...not sure which is worse for subscribers or people who have bought their products.

Just was responding to the 3 people in a row here which seem to think that was a possible cause.

It wasn't a subcontract per se, it was a JV - Roland Cloud was a joint venture between Roland Corporation Japan and Seattle based Virtual Sonics. Virtual Sonics seem pretty small (https://www.linkedin.com/company/virtualsonics/about/)EfreetiSultan wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 3:03 pmYeah of course, they Suck madly. Hi Examigan, you are correct my Friend. I do have the older Sonar producer 8.5 which does have the TTS and it is great within my old system but it only covers 50% of the Roland sonic territory that my xp10 did. The Roland soundcanvas covers much more and yes it would be ideal if i could rather buy a hardware sc88 pro or ultimately a Roland integra sound module and use the keyboard as a midi controler as it seems the sound output ic chip is dying so my idea was to buy the soundcanvas with a lifetime licence and use it with the new cakewalk by bandlab which no longers includes the roland tts soundcanvas anymore. (It was removed at Rolands Request from bandlab cakewalk i February this year according to the Cakewalk forums)Examigan wrote: Thu Aug 29, 2024 8:57 pmIf you have Sonar/Cakewalk (I thought you did at some point?) at least there is the TTS-1 which has some decent sounds. It's not like what you'd expect to hear from synths/romplers these days of course, but still it might be useful for you.surreal wrote: Thu Aug 29, 2024 7:51 pm I always wanted the roland sound canvas but i understand that it wont be available for purchase after September which is a great pity cause i wanted to buy it in October for my birthday when my September pay comes in... i wanted to buy it to replace my Dying Roland Xp 10 keyboard which I am still very fond of..

I have both the older X3 installed and the latest Bandlab version. TTS-1 loads up in the Bandlab version even though it’s from the X3 install.surreal wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 4:37 pmHi Examigan, you are correct my Friend. If you were in the USA I’d sell you my JV-880 which has some nice sounds/presets.

It’s not that they can’t fix their code, if Jon with Roland is a reliable source of information. He stated two days ago that these cloud instruments are being updated to address the CPU bug issues, and that it has been a more challenging task than expected. They must see that as something that needs to be fixed, whereas a cosmetic issue that impedes but doesn’t completely break functionality doesn’t deserve fixing. It’s like “do the absolute minimum” is their corporate motto.SLiC wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:52 pmThey could, it's self evident that they havent done that however...nothing new, nothing updated (still tiny no scalable GUIs, prehistoric browsers etc), obvious bugs not fixed...for years.EfreetiSultan wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:45 pm And code is universal. I wonder how many people are fixing or at least working on the issues. I’d think they would have more than one person as there are so many plugins in the RC.ToddlerTN wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 12:43 pmIt’s not that they can’t fix their code, if Jon with Roland is a reliable source of information. Then I see (e.g.) Synthmaster being updated and bugs fixed just about every week, and Bulent is basically a one man gang.

They are to busy constantly patching and fixing The Broken RCM App and they can't even get that thing bug free or stable and there is always something wrong with it.
Almost 9 years have passed since the RCM App was released and it is still a horrible mess which is a shame since it is needed for your plugins to work.
Wish they would bring back the good old Roland Content store where you only had to authorize your plugins 1 time and it was good to go.
You should get premium support and a great experience When your company demand premium prices compared to any other vst company.
