I think the opposite.

A fair selling price with good included presets is better than feed people with these micro transaction like, with a lower price and preset packs.
This will focus the devs attention to the presets instead of the main plugin, cause there's where they see money, and isn't good.

If the plugin is good, 199 is fair, maybe considering some discount on usual black fridays.

For people who prefer something like the previous post suggests there are already Avenger and Nexus, so there's no need for another stuff like that.

How is 199 fair when you can get Steinberg Absolute 6 for 249 right now? Anyway, if he doesn't want to gain market share it's his choice.

Selling additional presets does not constitute micro transactions. That would be like selling things for 1-2 USD for the ability to unlock minor things. Not everybody is a sound designer and also that way more creative people would be attracted to using this plugin. It would open up some opportunity for collaboration and show what the engine is capable of.

Anyway it's not my business, just providing some ideas.

Anyone else's Windows installer installs CLAP v1.0.1 (with an updated preset browser) but VST3 v0.4.0 (where none of the presets do anything and are all in a long list) ?

EDIT: Found the issue - The previous version of it was automatically installed in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\exacoustics\GHOST\

and the new one automatically went into:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\ (i.e. the base default VST3 folder)

Guessing Reaper prioritises versions in the VST3 sub-directories first and ignored the newer build as it had the same filename

You can get 20% OFF Ghost by using the code ALEX20 at checkout :)

I didn't notice a manual on their website, but the synthesizer is quite simple, it seems that a manual is not required.

Sure, but always useful to read (good) manuals

Don't want to be negative about this, but the vst keeps crashing every minute (on win 11 on a microsoft surface). So, the 15 minutes demo (really?), I can't actually consume.
In the few minutes I managed to run it, the UI looks very nice and the workflow seems intuitive.

I agree, would love a manual, even just for the obvious stuff.

easy to use FM synth with nice visual feedback and oscillators not restricted to simple waveforms, exiting new synth for sure
aliasing plugin owner

It's not 15 minutes. You just need to open the next instance of the synthesizer - it will work again for 15 minutes.

This is really an awesome synth and has come along nicely since the last time I tried it unfortunately I was wary of paying the 99 dollar beta intro price and even less likely to pay 200 for it now ,especially when I have so many others.

Hi Trémus,

I am currently running the demo and am quite impressed - I hadn't actually heard of this synth until I saw the reviews by Alex Reid & Letsynthesize pop up in my Youtube subscriptions and was like WOW where did this beast come from and why is this the first time I have heard of this beast, Ghost?

FYI - It is a heavy hitter, both in sound and it's user interface (and CPU too!)... TBH a couple of the presets are really ouch on the old processor!

I must admit that I am surprised at no intro price though and so at least for now, I am priced out at this early stage, however, it is in my wish list, so will wait to purchase until the right opportunity comes along... Unless, you happen to have a special discount code for a fellow Brisbane resident haha?

Either way, it looks very promising and I like the little hat tip to Minimal Audio's approach to the GUI... Following. Good job mate!

PS - I highly recommend distributing through Plugin Boutique or Splice with the option to "rent to own" - Ghost's user base will grow exponentially - For a pro hobbyist like myself the $199 USD price tag is simply not feasible.

Yeah right but no.

If people start basing their businesses and the price of their products as forum people want them - they are setting themselves up for failure

Spare me your economic degree and plugin market expertise. Crane Sonng Phoenix VST is 20-year-old plugin algo. selling at $499. Armchair forum plugin experts complain about the price, I think it is too much as well, but you know people still purchase that plugin so then....yeah...

If you think it is that simple - run your company and sell plugins at $49 :hihi:

So anyway the Synth is rather nice. I am running a demo and noticed on Windows I can not enlarge it to full screen. Is that a demo limitation? My Windows scale is set to 150% if that's something that could influence it.

While the sounds are quite gound I can see a lot of effort went into the fantastic interface.
