Here is my submission. Brutal feedback please!
https://soundcloud.com/treeheated/seven ... en-waiting
I've been meaning to learn how to use Odin 2, so I took this chance. Glad I did - it's very powerful. Eventually I wanted a second choice for use on simpler sounds that could, uh, smooth out the CPU usage. In past rounds, I found Full Bucket synths very efficient, so I chose WhispAir.
FX counts (excluding monitoring plugins):
- Odin2 x17
- WhispAir x5
- Stereo Width x3
- OrilRiver x1
- TDR Nova x1
- ReaComp x1
- ReaDelay x1
- ReaEQ x7
- ReaLimit x4
Edit: DAW: Reaper

My setup: 38 instances of Synth1 and Synth1 (and Tritik "Krush" as my "full 11" effect).
The VST legend. Still in beta (more than 20 years already). Lightweight, sleek and versatile. And I found it best for making extremely distorted sounds.
You need to crank up the volume for this.
Produced in FL Studio 21.2.2
Generators:
x3 FL Layer (utility)
x38 Cherry Audio "Synthesizer Expander Module"
EQ & Saturation:
x26 FL Parametric EQ 2
x1 TDR "Nova"

x1 D16 "Frontier"
x6 FL Stereo Enhancer
x1 TDR "Kotelnikov"

And while I was experimenting with file formats and different master settings I found that SC is s***ting up your tracks no matter what you do. Direct download or YouTube video are the options for a better experience.

Is Operator a freeware synth? If not, you'll need to swap it out, asap!hennessey wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 7:19 pmKeeping it all in the DAW: 18 instances of Operator in Live

Isn’t Operator native to Live? In-DAW vst’s are always allowed

In DAW FX are allowed with some exceptions (no chorus, phaser, flanger, pitch shifting, etc, and moderate saturation). In DAW synths are not part of this month's challenge unfortunately : (ThePresent wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 8:08 pm Isn’t Operator native to Live? In-DAW vst’s are always allowed

The rules for this rounds say
"You have two options for this challenge:
Option 1. Choose two freeware virtual synth plugins to make your track
Option 2. Choose one freeware virtual synth and one freeware fx plugin which may be used to the max (full 11)
In both cases additional free fx plugins may be used within normal OSC restrictions."

Hi All,
Finally finished something, after what felt like a year. I don't want to know how many “OSC_Idee.flp” files I already have on my PC. There must be at least... 3. anyway, for this OSC I had the idea to choose one of the synths I liked the most. Well, it wasn't an easy choice, but in the end I decided on the TAL Noisemaker. Then it was time to choose a second VST that I disliked the most, and I thought for about 15 milliseconds and loaded One Ping Only into the project. But instead of trying to recreate sounds with OPO, I used it instead where I actually found it quite decent: Analog-sounding percussion and marimba-like sounds. I hope you like my intentionally OSC#150-like track.

Technical Details:
All sounds created from scratch, some are my presets from OSC#150.
DAW: FL Studio 24 Producer Edition
Total Instances: 57
TAL Noisemaker: 53
One Ping Only: 4
DAW Effects:
Channel EQ: 11
Fruity Compressor: 1

Fruity Multiband Compressor: 5
Fruity Parametric EQ 2: 3
Fruity Reeverb 2: 8
Fruity Stereo Enhancer: 5
