Anyone know of an arpeggiator insert effect plug-in?

Dear Everyone.
I'm NOT as good at the jargon as I should be - I mean something I can use as an insert effect on a channel so instead of having to write a ton of tiny notes - I use a notation DAW - I can just put in one long note and set the plug-in to do the arpeggiating and the plug-in will keep the arpeggiation going as long as the note holds out. So if it's a 4-beat note, the arpeggiation will last 4 beats and so on.
Why I'm asking is because I've got a synth VST that does arpeggiation but I've kinda flogged that to death, to a point where I hate hearing it now! Was wondering if there was something that would let me choose any sound I've got and just arpeggiate it according to an arpeggiation sequence I set up on it.
Yours hopefully
Chris.

Quick addendum to the above - just had a thought - yes, my brane hurts!
If it was an 'instrument' I could drop a sample into then arpeggiate the sample, that would be just as good. Could use Audacity to get a sample from a sound I wanted to use and arpeggiate that.
Of course a freebie would be nice, but am happy to pay for something that JUST does arpeggiation and not 200 other things I'd never understand or use. And isn't a MASSIVE bunch of money - am not a wealthy composer!
Yours hopefully, Chris.

vst arp is easier, just put it in front of your instrument of choice (sampler/synth)

Arpeggiate a Sample?!... They been doin' that in Trackers for decades... Use a Tracker or perhaps a Tracker Plugin like ReViSiT from Chris Nash...
You can go there & grab the standard & use away-

Thankyou all for your wonderful help - I'm now arpeggiating like Tangerine Dream on speed!

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil
