They revamped this plug-in?
Am I crazy or in this video is there not an awful digital noise one would associate with a vintage bucket brigade delay emulation applied to the reverb (supposedly a PLATE) section? Why on earth tho? That's gotta be a mistake right? It sounds awful IMO and I can barely think of a circumstance where that kind of noise on a reverb even applies to a lo-fi application.

Where would the digital noise come from in a fully analog device (assuming this would be real hardware)?Funk Dracula wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 2:08 am They revamped this plug-in?

I understand a bucket brigade delay isn't digital but the plug-in sure is lmao. Anyways the easiest way I would describe the distortion/timbre a BBD can give sometimes is similar in timbre to a bitcrusher, kinda sorta, so I tend to use "digital glitchyness" to describe it when it's gets to be so pronounced and upfront. The technical semantics are not important really.jens wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 7:38 amWhere would the digital noise come from in a fully analog device (assuming this would be real hardware)?Funk Dracula wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 2:08 am They revamped this plug-in?

Regardless, in that video, and another one I viewed on youtube, I hear this awful blooming digital sounding glitching on the reverb. And no, it's not from the saturation knob being cranked, it's different than that and rather obvious IMO. And yes, it's present when the delay that "could/should" be making some noises is turned off.
Have you watched the video I linked? I don't know how you'd miss it. I viewed another video from some other youtuber and it was doing the same thing.
Now that I think about it, it does sound like a bugged reverb. I remember when the Lexicon PCM first dropped, the ConcertHall algo had this early reflections glitch in it that sounded incredibly similar to what this seems to be doing and it took them a few weeks to hotfix that.
I like the way the delay sounds btw. It's thicker than say Valhalla BBD algo sounds, and offers ping pongs and much better modulation unlike the Fuse Audio Lab's BBD. The reverb sounds like it could be something nice, and honestly the deciding "what else does this thing do" factor that would make me consider picking it up, but I mean it seems to be hiding under all this buggy sounding crackling in all the demos I can find. And if it's supposed to always sound crackly/glitchy like that, being a plate reverb, then definitely I'll pass haha.
Cheers

in Version 1.0.1 the artifacts have been addressed. It was a smoothing routine introduced in the last week of beta testing that brought this in. Now fixed!
