I detest this company.

Post

Reaktor 's over? I'm out. Truly diasppointed by the company. I use to be a Komplete owner since 6 years or more....time to stop to deal with NI. Sadness

Post

Why is everyone crying wolf? Reaktor is not discontinued.

You can still buy it...

And if you take a look in the Komplete comparison chart, it is still there, under Legendary Synthesizers.

Yeah...
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

They added it after the fact. Reaktor 6 was missing completely from that page when NI first announced it yesterday. And given the history of silently phasing out beloved instruments, this wasn't too much of a stretch. I'm glad it's just a marketing error for now.

Post

Yes initially there were no Reaktor in list (and just two Reaktor related synths).
Well, good that it was just mistake, no probs.

Yep, I did a text search for Reaktor on that page. Where it is listed now is EXACTLY where I was looking and there were only two links and that's what the search results stated. So, it wasn't there yesterday and given the noise that they've been making recently, it really wouldn't be surprising if that was actually what they were doing.

Yeah pretty sure that was a mistake on marketing end.

It would be a great marketing move to do something super cool to it as an update, that no-one suspects, just to quell the speculation. :tu:

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

Very good! Anyway it seems clear to me that in the not so long run NI will adbandon it. I hope to be wrong...

As for me (though afraid of incurring discontent from users) but i even agree if dev will not updating it (exactly in new features sence), since (as someone right said as far i remember) that this is can say finished successful product, i agree. Just maintenance\compatibility updates will be enough. In other word as sacrifice new features in order give product still exists as is.

Edit:
I think many good products (ok not many but there is) have burned out due to too much ambition for development, which trapped themselves in the complexity of the design and, accordingly, maintenance, perhaps Geist2 is such an example.
Perhaps current stage of the Reaktor is its golden mean.

I agree with the previous poster, that, at some point, they will discontinue Reaktor. I would also LOVE to be wrong. I would LOVE to see a big update. I would LOVE to have an excuse to upgrade Komplete. I don't think that any of that will happen. I also think that, to the extent that this might have been a marketing "error," it still reflects how NI thinks about Reaktor. Oh the marketing department left one of two key products off the list? Oh well. There is no picture of it on the page as a "highlight" but there's an exciting picture of Ozone Standard. Their choice of language couldn't be more clear. Reaktor is not a "flagship" but Kontakt, Massive X, Guitar Rig Pro, and Ozone Standard are.

So, to be clear, you're not going to "shut me up" in the sense that I don't like the direction that NI is going and I've moved from being an avid supporter to a critic. I expect to see them push subscriptions more. I see the offering of an incentive to pre-order, which I want some of what you're smoking if you legitimately think is a $249 value <insert eye roll here>, as a step closer to that in that it seems a bit more "cash desperate" than it has in past years.

Yeah it’s really strange. Reaktor is the last plugin I thought they’d axe. I was under the impression that the reaktor community was super massive. I’d love to know their reasoning behind that decision. Granted I only use reaktor for rounds and razor, etc. I assume they’re going to keep using it to develop future synths. Why wouldn’t they keep it included?

Post

Edit: never mind. I didn’t see evildragon’s post above. It sounds like it’s still included but they’re just not advertising it as strongly as they used to. Phew.

Bad time to make a mistake. That’s the last community you want to piss off. lol.

As you've seen, they haven't axed it yet. However, it's not clear to me that they have any plans in using it to develop "future synths." I don't think that it's panned out in the way that they want it to pan out. I don't see very many 3rd party devs for Reaktor Blocks, or licensed Reaktor products in general.
