I am quite happy with V12 and this Minor update that screwed up things by moving some bits around that was already in V12 is not even worth $89 to me.
Reason 13 Announced- Sequencer updated!

You can't use the Reward points to buy the upgradefceramic wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 8:42 pm The reward points would get the upgrade price down to 60€, but 13 is such a terrible version in every way, that it's not even tempting. The new UI feels like a first draft, it looks so unfinished and amateurish. Hopefully, their new UX hire can save Reason, cause 13 is a train wreck. Only thing I like is the ability to scroll with a trackpad, but they could have just added that to 12.
You can only use Reward points for a limited selection of RE's that you can select from the Reward shop page.
Just tried since I already had more Reward points than the upgrade price and I already have the RE's That i want.

It may be because you are trying to use more than 75 points because under the "Get This Reward" button for the 100 points rewards (and up) it states:D-Fusion wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 9:16 pmYou can't use the Reward points to buy the upgradefceramic wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 8:42 pm The reward points would get the upgrade price down to 60€, but 13 is such a terrible version in every way, that it's not even tempting. "Only applicable to Reason Studios Rack Extensions"
So, that, perhaps, implies that below 100 points you can use them to upgrade...
The 75 points selection has no restriction under the button "Get This Reward".
EDIT: Nope. You are right. It's getting worse by the minute over there

Agreed.... In terms of value added I think the price should be $49 but as I like them I can top-up $40 more.liquidsound wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 4:28 pmI don’t think it’ll go below that, unless this “usual” offer has no impact on the numbers seen on polls…ralfrobert wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 4:22 pmToo expensive. I love Reason, but - well actually thus - I totally loathe these guys so my goodwill
towards them is exactly zero. They can get lost (and they will, eventually).

You can't hate a full company. It is too many people and you can't avoid that very nice people are part of it.
Also I don't know their constraints so it is difficult to assess really how bad are their decisions.

With that out of the way: it's very easy to assess how bad their decisions are. They wasted a lot of programming time on making the DAW actually worse than it was, rather than improving it by whatever little amount. There's just absolutely NO excuse for that.

It was the 75 point reward that I tried to use Because of the restriction noticeliquidsound wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 12:46 amIt may be because you are trying to use more than 75 points because under the "Get This Reward" button for the 100 points rewards (and up) it states:D-Fusion wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 9:16 pmYou can't use the Reward points to buy the upgradefceramic wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 8:42 pm The reward points would get the upgrade price down to 60€, but 13 is such a terrible version in every way, that it's not even tempting. I ended up buying RP Vector for 50 so I hope i will get back the 25 points after 2 Months.
Weird that they don't do this automatically and just take the 75 Points without giving back the rest.

I felt I held out longer than most seeing how I was invested and highly proactive with Reason since V3, but there's still plenty out there absolutely certain that next update will be 'the one'. It won't be: it will be paltry compared to competitor drive and output, will be more expensive than you'd expect, and still will lack in so many areas it's sadly laughable.
Having said that I rock fine with Reason Rack when needed, getting my $50 upgrade for every 2nd or 3rd version of Reason, and not doing anything within the DAW that is meaningful in any way with my productions.
Have you tried Vital?

Yeah, Reason was my main DAW for a couple of years but now I switched over to (mainly) Samplitude. That's an amazing DAW with a development team that really deserves flowers, hugs&kisses.
I also have (amongst others) Nuendo with which I don't mind at all paying good bucks for updates, even though I never use Nuendo. It costs the same as the Reason full version updates (both undiscounted, of course) but offers SO much more, it's ridiculous that I even compare the two.
The additional Nuendo-only features (basically 50€ worth of update, as that's the difference between it and Cubase) alone are VASTLY more substantial than what you get in a Reason update.

I've read that it's impossible to transfer the Rack Extensions you've purchased (not to mention you can't sell them). At the very least, it would be a minimum of decency and morality to transfer the RE licenses with your copy of Reason to the new buyer.
What an unbelievable slander, this completely regressive behavior of a company has no future.

Ugh! They leave you no choice but to loathe them.

In all fairness: that‘s not breaking news. It has been extensively discussed since the advent of RE‘s in 2012!LaLivre wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:11 am I've read that it's impossible to transfer the Rack Extensions you've purchased (not to mention you can't sell them).
