In case anyone doesn't want to read 10 pages...most users are disappointed that the software instruments haven't been updated and appear to have development stopping in favour of sample based instrument. Many existing Komplete users wont bother updating for this reason, but its still good value for new users or people who like sample based stuff and sound packs.

Mostly agree. And I think it’s fair if they need to focus more on their strengths like Kontakt, Komplete kontrol and Machine, given that they probably can’t keep up with other synth makers anymore. But if so then they should really be making those few products cutting edge shouldn’t they? Is it really excusable for yet another version to come out with a low res editor that isn’t properly resizable? Give your main product some decent graphics! Give it built in mpe (and not rely on scripts that don’t even work on your own factory library and kontakt products). Maybe time to make Maschine scalable?noiseboyuk wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 12:08 pm KVR: where nuance goes to die. All the usual stuff in this thread.
There are lots of problems with NI and their products, they are sometimes infuriating. But NI are not the root of all evil and much of what they do is very good indeed. There are terrific bargains to be had, and their suite of freebies is superb in Komplete Start.
As I've said 50 times, the reason why KVR is so excised over NI is that they used to be synth trailblazers and are no longer. Synths is pretty much all KVR people are interested in. In some other sample product areas they are best in class.
So yeah fine move away from synths but then a company this size should be able to keep up with modern software instrument design for just a small handful of core products.

Yes, Leap is new in Kontakt 8.BJ wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 6:22 pm Is this the first time theyve done “leap” products/expansions? Where you also get content that hasn’t been released yet?
Don't understand the 2nd question.

It doesn't really need it if you ask me, it's pretty powerful without it.PietW. wrote: Tue Sep 03, 2024 8:44 am Another year has passed and once again it is not possible to import your own wavetables into MassiveX.
Might not be the best upgrade in this version. Still a pretty solid bundle, and no doubt it has more izotope and bx stuff added in it's still a great bundle for people starting out.

No of course it's just my opinion. It has all the typical large company "death throw" tell tail signs and has been going down the inevitable road to oblivion for quite some years now. All of the principles the company was founded on are long gone.
As a brand it's still very strong and a recognizable name so it won't die in that manner but instead it is morphing into something different, something bland and generic.. like very often is the case with companies when they grow large and get purchased by venture capitalists.
I still use their legacy products and am not planning on dumping them any time soon because a good product is a good product for the duration of it's life time. I'm just not giving the modern variation of NI any money as they simply do not have any products that interest me and I don't trust them to do good by their products (meaning I don't count on any updates ever and I most definitely don't trust their support department at all). Thus I spend no money on them and haven't for years. Completely ignoring all their software and hardware. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Same goes for iZotope. They are in a similar situation and thus have naturally lost me as a customer about 6 years ago. The only party of the trinity where I still pay attention to new products is Plugin Alliance as they do every once in a while release interesting products (and to be fair, I still have a few 29$ vouchers left

That's the irony of large corporations. They become extremely slow and bloated. I hope Elon buys NI and renames it to ReaktorX.

This doesn't look like the typical scenario in which a company gets taken over with the goal to destroy it as a competitor though. There is no competitor involved by the looks of it. At least I'm not aware of one. How are investors going to make money when nobody buys their products anymore, because of stalled development, and the value of the company goes down subsequently? Do you think they can make enough money until nobody wants it anymore? I'm not saying it's impossible there is a perverse, but successful, business logic in all this. Who knows. That's why I'm more interested in facts than speculation.

I think they just suck so bad at managing the company that it might eventually result in it going under. No knowledge of the market they're playing in and all that. The pandemic probably had them seeing dollars signs but AFAIK the music software purchasing boom from that is mostly over. I'm sure there's some kind of financial bullshit that the investors can pull to walk away with some money.
