The bs of Pro DAWs Vs amateur DAWs

These days it is rarely an argument, ten-15 years ago when ProTools was very expensive and used hardware this argument was way more common, specially against FL and Live and Reason to some extent.

See this is the problem, you literally don't know what you're talking about. Modern Trackers can use VSTi's, AUi's even. There is no difference in "sound". People are choosing Lofi etc. Someone posted Venetian Snares earlier in this thread. He's using orchestral samples, the whole bit. All in Renoise.WackyZoundz wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 12:22 am If you would actually read what I wrote instead of just waiting to throw the next bogus argument at me to "win" you would have read that I was talking about the sound, not the music. You can create (at least theoretically) complex music with trackers but the sound is very limited. That's why you have to trick and adapt the music itself. That limited sound is okay if you go for that oldschool lo-fi vibe (as I already wrote). But you can't go beyond that. Is it really that hard to understand that you can drive a car as slow as a bike but a bike never as fast as a car? Just to make sure: The bike stands for trackers, the car for "big" DAWs.
So there you go, in terms of composing, you admit they're capable, and because almost all modern trackers can use any VST or AU, there is no "sound". Just give it up, it was always a weird point.

Didn't this one guy make his first release on trackers? Disco -something... sorry really cannot remember
Anyway, Hitting trackers in '86-'87 I can still remember shortcuts and keys on pt/ft compatible keymap using trackers.
Wanna make 4/4 bassdrum? CTRL+4, press the bassdrum sample note and keep it pressed. Voila, took 2 seconds, you have beat.
Ahh.

If the music is in your head, then it makes no difference what you use to get it out to the world. If it isn't, well...

I don't have to agree or disagree with you, the popularity statistics for my threads speak for themselves. 90K, 30K, 20K, 10K, 5K are view figures you can find on them but not always.
On topic:
I think that one of great things about using old Amiga's is that, should you have the necessary peripherals, you can take this old software and hardware and integrate it with both old / modern equipment and effects. I hope to have my own Amiga 1200 properly setup with my expanded custom built desk, when I get the rest of my room /house decorated after new insulation/heat-pump/solar panels are fitted. No time for music these days.
Here's another fairly recent thread about Amiga / Atari here.

They include the instruments/functions necessary to create tracker sound.

Yeah we all knew his intentions for posting was for popularity reasons with no sincerity about actually wanting to know the questions he was asking in his stupid threads. And now, straight from that donkey ass mouth, he confirmed it.pekbro wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 6:43 pm Popularity? you really do believe that don't you? You can make good music with a simple wooden stick hitting a trash can. But you can't make it sound like a drum set.machinesworking wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 5:48 am So there you go, in terms of composing, you admit they're capable

And still no example of tracker music that does not sound like tracker music. I want to hear something that is not some sort of perfectly quantized lo-fi techno. Something that sounds like a real band performing with real instruments featuring all those typical velocity/timing/pitch variations.

Sounds more like using renoise as an instrument. Worth trying different ways to make one record music for sure. Doesn't make renoise a DAW though.machinesworking wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 5:48 am People are choosing Lofi etc. Someone posted Venetian Snares earlier in this thread. Definitely there are 'pro' features that not all DAWs have. How useful they are depends on how you are using your DAW.
Cubase has features like control room, and a ton multi channel editing features. Definitely Pro if you're trying to record a band. Many people may not need it though.
