MDE-X, M1, and WAVESTATION are like that and treat the VST2 version as the main resource that the VST3 loads the guts of. Triton, opsix native, ARP 2600, wavestate native aren't like that and work without the VST2 version on disk. It doesn't really bug me. Actually, it might have been nice in the case of ARP 2600 where the plugin is 200mb+ and it has both a VST3 instrument and VST3 effects version in separate dylibs/dlls
That's a lot of disk space for just the plugin! (I'm guessing it's mostly image resources.)

the Z1 ? its basically a polyphonic prophecy wich has been around for a couple of years now !!!EvilDragon wrote: Tue May 14, 2024 9:36 am Korg owns those two brands so it's fine I guess. But yeah I also wanted to see Z1 or DW-8000...

It is not. Z1 has more oscillator types and is 6-part multitimbral, has the arpeggiator. It does not sound exactly the same.

This has had me wondering lately if they might leap over the hoped-for emulation and jump into the uber evolved "-native" like they did with the DW and Wavestation.EvilDragon wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 9:51 pm It is not. "Zone-native" could be a winner!

Kinda doubt it. Modwave doesn't really sound much like a DW either. That was a nice marketing trick, alas, no cigar.

I like the Arp 2600, thats all i have heh. Uses
a lot of cpu at times, and its the first time, ive seen the parameters normalized to other
stuff before, its a bit weird to get used to.
All in all very cool and rewarding synth to
use imo.

True. I actually prefer Modwave over the DW though. And I wasn't impressed like others were in the Z1. But I still had real analogs when it was a thing and felt it was weak in those areas. A Zone-native would probably hit a closer must have trigger for me.EvilDragon wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:12 pm Kinda doubt it. Modwave doesn't really sound much like a DW either. And I'm still hoping for a Radias-native and Mod7-native.

Z1 definitely sounds quite special, I think it was great for the time. It goes places where real analogs don't and does it really well IMO.
Radias native would be awesome. Mod7 I am kinda unsure will happen considering Opsix exists. I would welcome it, of course, but it feels a bit superfluous. Opsix is basically a distilled Mod7, in a way.

It would be nice if new patches overwrite previously saved patches with the same file name. NO. MATTER. WHAT. I like to save over a "WIP" patch over and over, and sometimes I forget that I have an old "WIP" patch I haven't deleted yet, so when I save a new one, I end up with 2 or more autoversioned "WIP" patches I have to delete so I don't confuse them with the one I'm presently working on. I understand that this might be undesirable for some users, but for me, turning off autoversioning would be a great option.

Are you serious?! The DW8000 had a really cool mod delay and filter. At least from the demos I listened too, I find the DW's filter (which is OTA) to be more musically interesting and rich than the Polysix and MS-20 filters. KORG R&D missed the point of the dw in modWave by not emulating the DW's filter.BBFG# wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:31 pmTrue. I actually prefer Modwave over the DW though. 1.0.9
Graphics resources are now stored separately and shared by all versions of the ARP 2600, including the standalone application and AU/VST3/AAX plug-ins. This reduces the size of the installer download, application, and plug-ins by a substantial amount.
Previously, the asterisk next to the Performance name, indicating an edited state, often showed after changing performances in VST3 hosts. This has now been fixed.
Improved Motion Sequence synchronization.
Modulation of Motion Sequence Rate is now supported.
MIDI mappings for Unison Ensemble effect parameters now appear in the MIDI Map list.
Renamed the "REVERB" mod matrix category for the front-panel reverb as PANEL REVERB, for clarity.
Shortened prefix for MODE SWEEP FILTER Mod Matrix destination names so that they will appear without truncation.
Parametric EQ band enable 1-4 and Unison Ensemble effects parameters are now available for automation.
Previously, the Reverb slot inadvertently exposed Wet/Dry as a modulation and automation target. This has now been fixed.
The installer now allows installation of plug-ins even if a newer version is present.
Worked around problems in a shared library which intermittently caused minor graphics glitches when the UI size was not 100%. (These affected the down-arrow caret in the effect type selector and the "power" button graphic.)
Previously, the CMT ID might have intermittently been incorrect at startup. This has now been fixed.
Previously, reopening the plug-in UI in Logic could in rare situations cause an openGL crash. This has now been fixed.
Previously, creating a mod routing for the Transpose switch caused a crash. This has now been fixed.
Windows only: previously, in the standalone application, if a modal dialog (e.g. Settings) was open, and the Windows+D shortcut was used to minimize all windows, the application window could only be reopened by pressing Windows+D again (and not by clicking the taskbar icon or using alt-tab). This has now been fixed.
