Yes

Post

Well than SynthCraft should open when you doubleclick on the file SynthCraft.exe. At least that is what happens on my laptop...

Featherless biped wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2024 2:32 pm - On my laptop "y = x" and "y = inv(x)" in the inline-function module have the exact same effect: the signal stays the same.

"y = (1 - x) - 1" doesn't invert the signal either...
That's strange. I know the 'minus' sign is very small but it works for me :?:

When extracting the ZIP file there is no difference between the latest version and older versions.
SynthCraft should be copied to a folder with read/write access.
aka:- C:\SynthCraft or c:\Temp\SynthCraft or F:\Apps\Music\SynthCraft etc...
It even runs portable on a USB drive

Post

I tried "inv" with the A440Hz module and the Signal Analyser module.

Post

For a DC signal "inv" works as it should.

Hi. I did all the requetsted steps and tried to put SynthCraft folder in various folders included the root one C:/...double click on .exe and...no...does not show up

Post

Have you tried other apps with an .exe file? The trouble could be with your system instead of SynthCraft because SynthCraft does open and work on my own Windows laptop.

Its very difficult to diagnose an issue like this, especially when it works on other Win11 systems.
Perhaps you have some user account setting stopping it running. Have you tried compatibility mode.

I think I understand the issue now.

If viewing an periodic signal ie: A440Hz on the scope display
the oscilloscope wont detect the start of the waveform until it crosses a zero volt rising.
Only then will it start to draw the waveform.

So if you invert a sine (or other pereodic) waveform it will appear as unchanged on the scope.

Here I feed the A440Hz into the volt meters and 'freeze' the output to show that the value is indeed inverted.

It's great to get this kind of feedback on SynthCraft and really impresses on me the need for a comprehensive help file.
I've updated the help section on the Signal Analyser to replace the out of date (and confusing) scope image and will try to do more work on the help file between releases.

Here is an amended version of the help file with a bit more info on the Signal Analyzer and how the display works.

Hope this helps

Yes - I was thinking about asking you for a pdf (or doc-) file as an early version for a Manual of SynthCraft as a whole. I don't know how to open the file you linked to.

I can't quite figure this one out.
How does the circuit excite the filters to produce a signal on the oscilloscope.
What is the constant module doing. Are there some other modules in the project not shown in this screen shot that could be causing the issue.

Can you please post the *.sc1 project file.

Regards
Kirsty

Post

Because of the crash there is no file. But I will patch the circuit again today.

Here's the file:
looping.sc1.zip
It doesn't crash in this version, but I would like to regulate the cut-off frequency of the low-pass filters in order to change the oscillation frequency...

Apparently the circuit needs a limiter for the frequency to become controllable. My fault.
