Android - SPL Meters and Analysers

It looks like I might get a smartphone in the near future, and it'll be a HTC loaded with Android. Fortunately, some of the apps on the market finally make some sense, and are actually usable.
Unfortunately it will probably still a while until V-Control Pro is ported to Android, but my BCF/BCR keep me busy for the time being. Until there IS at least one tool on Android in terms of controlling a host with playback/record at minimum.
*cough* Anyway...
I was checking out certain apps beforehand and would like to hear some input. Having an SPL meter in the studio or a frequency analyser can never hurt. Fortunately, there are some tools available.
These are the tools I've found:
- AudioTools
- deciBel Pro
- SPL and Spectrum Analyser
- Speedy Spectrum Analyser
So far my favorite (I could test some of these on the HTC of my brother-in-law) is AudioTools, not only since it seems to evade the limitations of cellphone microphones.
But I think I'm stuck in terms of calibrating unless I have a dedicated SPL meter to adjust the offset. And here I thought "man, you don't need that". Unless someone knows a solution in how to setup these tools without the hardware that you want to incorporate on your cellphone.
Anyone else knows of good (read exceptional/outstanding) SPL/peak meters and/or Spectrum Analyser in AppForm?

hi,
I use Speedy Spectrum Analyzer and find it very useful (Galaxy S here). I just hope Jeff will add soon the calibration option and external mic support (http://www.soundonsound.com/news?NewsID=13843).
I use RTA (free) too, but I prefer Speedy.
cheers
Phil

Speedy Spectrum Analyser is just an analyser however, and yes... it somewhat lacks calibration (the readouts with just picking up voices wasn't that great, but better than laggy AudioTool).
Anybody else some input on these tools? Or are you Android/iOS users mainly only using hosts and special FX on these modules?

Owning a Tab S8+ I wonder, why I can't find pro analyzers for Android? I also installed Cubasis by Steinberg - no chance, there's no analyzer. What?

https://process.audio/en/products/decibel
But: it has to run on Mac or Windows and sends only the data to Android, to be displayed. Main workstation won't be relieve!
2nd: 139,00€ is too high price tag.

Ugly UI and old graphics, but if it can be fullscreen with goniometer and receiving audio from macOS via bluetooth or wifi I am in. The developer seems to be pretty fast. Looking forward! Thanks for posting!

This app doesn't allow you to select another input source except an external microphone. So for making music, mixing, mastering it is not made for. Anyway I asked the developer if he might think about integrating that.
Does someone uses an Android tablet as an external spectrum meter and goniometer?

You didn't specify this requirement originally.Sir Hannes wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2024 11:57 pmThis app doesn't allow you to select another input source except an external microphone.
