Tosh. You're being an arsehole for no reason whatsoever. As usual.

Yeah, the link I posted was for those same 6 pages (pages 14-19) from the magazine, plus the next 16 pages of mini tutorials on some of the included plugins. A pity its no longer accessible.Gavincoolguy wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 3:22 am here is the link to a pdf showing what's included:

It depends on the plugin. If they're a 'CM' edition of a plugin, there's generally no copy protection, but if its a full commercial version there may be something, either as a license or reg code in the download or via the magazine, or even a redemption code you have to register with the company. Axxess on 339 is the latter, ie properly registered on GForce site.FatGuy wrote: Sun Sep 08, 2024 7:22 am CM plugins comes with a different copy protection from regulars or you get a SN to register into their own websites?

I’m not a fan of copy protection that requires an internet connection, so I’d be interested to know if there are any CM plugins that use no copy protection or just a simple serial number/key file.
Is there a way to find out how the licensing system works for each plugin they release? Also, are updates provided for these plugins, or is it just a single version without further support or updates?
One last question: is it possible to purchase the CM version online and still get access to the included plugins?
Apologies for the beginner questions I've never really considered CM before, but the chance to get plugins that are otherwise unavailable, with a good copy protection system, has piqued my interest

Not that easily, Im afraid. I didnt find out how Axxess authorisation worked until I'd got all the plugins (they are in a single download) then unzipped that, looked inside the Axxess folder (and I think unzipped what was in there) and read the document I got which explained I had to do a thing that generated an email that forwarded me a redemption code to use on the GForce website.FatGuy wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2024 10:51 am Is there a way to find out how the licensing system works for each plugin they release?
On one older-edition download, I noticed the zip file had a couple of extra files alongside the installer, one of which seemed to be a license file.
There might be better documentation of that kind of thing in the magazines, I forgot to check, but not necessarily more public than that.
Yes. But again it can be a bit faffy. One last question: is it possible to purchase the CM version online and still get access to the included plugins?
So yeah, I got 339 from zinio.com for £3.80, and in the section on the plugins there's a link to a 'secret' page on the MusicRadar site where it asks you three questions based on words that appear on specific pages of the magazine, then that gave a code which you entered on another page (and have to get right in one go, otherwise you have to wait a week or something before you can try again) which then took me to a page where the downloads were listed...
(Oh, and if its from issue 315 or earlier, you can technically get them whether you bought the mag or not, though its a different mechanism and the actual site you get -them- on is slow and flaky as all hell and a massive PITA. The newer system is more faff, but the downloads work)

I think all of the CM edition plugins have no protection. They're usually cutdown versions of a larger commercial plugin made for CM. The plugins that have copy protection are not cutdown CM versions but full version software, which is why they need activating.
The protection scheme will be whatever the norm is for that developer. For most of the new ones added here it will be challenge/response. Inphonik being the exception as they don't use copy protection.

Rob Papen Go2 requires activation on the RP website as it's a commercial product. You're given a link from CM in the download folder to request a code. I believe Inphonik RYM2612 will be the same, although I already had it registered from a previous giveaway so didn't try to claim from CM.

The mighty ZebraCM only is worth buying the mag ! Very different from Zebralette on the U-HE site.
Not sure if it has been updated?
I might just buy a new copy of CM online anyway, been a good read for over 20 years !
