I have exactly 50 processors (i.e. all except 2) and my discount is 50 - could you please clarify whether that might be correct indeed under whatever conditions (group buy, etc.) or is it certainly an error?Peter - IK Multimedia wrote: Tue Sep 10, 2024 5:10 pm That would be the discount available. If not and you do have 50+ T-RackS single processors, support would definitely need to take a look.
T-RackS 6 now available

I am in a similar situation. I first bought a version of T-Racks 5 that cost me about €20, but it was not the "MAX" version. A few days later, as I had really liked the plugins, I saw an offer for the "Max" version for €49 and decided to buy it despite repeating the plugins I already had. That's not all, a few days later I saw an offer for Total Studio Max for €200 and I couldn't resist despite having to pay again for T-racks 5, so I paid about €270 plus taxes when I could have paid €200 for the same reason, but I still think it is a fabulous offer, so much quality plug-in for that money. I completely understand not providing a grace period on software that is almost given away with respect to the price that has kept the life of the product last. Steinberg, for example, provides a grace period for products that have the same price when they went on sale as they did the day before the new version was released. But they don't make the version cheaper days before releasing the new product. In the case of IKM, their strategy I suppose is that they try to attract new clients before releasing their new version, and in my case it has worked less for them, since I have fallen in love with many of their plugins and have updated to version 6. Greetings.TBlake wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:22 pmSorry to inform you that IK is not giving a grace period to those that bought a month ago let alone 3 months ago. I bought TS4 Max less than three months ago. Any grace period or other considerations, other than the fact that I now own TR5 Max v2 as part of the bundle? I do see the $99 offer when I go to the site, but I am more interested in some kind of grace period discount due to my recent purchase. Thank you

I'll maybe take a look at T-Racks v6 in 2025 or 2026 when they allow individual product installation( I mean complete, not hiding from your DAW but installing nevertheless) and when the complete catalog will be on sale at $99

But if you bought it 1 minute later you would have to pay $199, so you still save $50zerocrossing wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 10:57 pmIf you purchased it the minute before 6 came out, you must pay $99 to get the new version.TBlake wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:22 pmSorry to inform you that IK is not giving a grace period to those that bought a month ago let alone 3 months ago. There are certainly valid complaints concerning IK's business model but I think this one needs to be called out.vertibration wrote: Wed Sep 11, 2024 11:10 am No way in hell would I upgrade to anything having to pay for the same plugins again. Nuts
Step back and think about it again and I'll use an analogy.....say a developer upgrades a synth from version 1 to version 2 with some nice new features and there is a cost to upgrade.
Would you say "no way" you'd upgrade because the new version contains some of the code, features, and functions from version 1? No of course not because the upgrade cost is to cover the new features and functions.
In this case the upgrade fee is in large part for 8 new plugins and for my upgrade cost of $99 I think that would be a fair upgrade price if those plugins appealed to me.
Unfortunately (or fortunately for my wallet) the new plugins are not something I want or need. Not saying they have no value just no value for me. For example I hate spring reverbs so no interest in a new one and so on.
8 plugins for $99 works out to $12.37 each so that's a great bargain but again only if those plugins bring you something you need or want and that's a determination the individual must make on their own.
I've been a very vocal critic of IK and their sales rep over the years but I don't really find anything to complain about with the TR 6 upgrade at least in regards to cost.
Sure, I wish they had done 8 different plugins that I do want but to be honest I'm not sure I could come up with a wish list that long for plugins I'm missing from TR-5 Max.

Seems like IK corrected their checkout process (or changed the upgrade criteria), I'm getting the $99 price now with the coupon code populating, the coupon wasn't showing up when I tried it the other day. Still debating whether to upgrade or not, a couple of the new plugins do look interesting.

Well, it's basically 8 new ones for $99 and then updates to existing ones. Inmy case 10 new ones as i didn't have a few of the ones from TR Max. $10 per plugin. plus other stuff. check half way down page. its actually not a bad deal.vertibration wrote: Wed Sep 11, 2024 11:10 am No way in hell would I upgrade to anything having to pay for the same plugins again. why do I even have Jampoints if I am never allowed to use them on anything good?

Now that is a good question.ATS wrote: Thu Sep 12, 2024 6:53 am why do I even have Jampoints if I am never allowed to use them on anything good?
Maybe I misunderstood something don't hold my comment true but I almost swear someone at the Gearspace thread said they were able to use Jampoints to obtain an upgrade for completely free (I mean for Jampoints). Apparently, there is a process you need to follow in order to successfully use jampoints at the checkout. Try reading the Gearspace thread but be prepared it is kinda 1:1 same fiasco there as well. People bitch and complain about the whole thing.

Let me elaborate. I have only one plugin that I bought from them, its the Distressor plugin. I only want an upgraded version of that plugin, and I would have to spend $99 to upgrade it. That is crazy to me. I do agree, $99 for a version 6 update with 8 new plugins is a good deal.

I thought Jampoints were locked into a 15% to 20% discount based on under $100, and over $100 cost in cart

Ahh, well that is where you are going wrong. You need loads of plugins that you will never use. How the hell are you supposed to procrastinate with just the plugins you need.
