I'd already moved a load of modules around this week, so decided to put the MM somewhere its a bit more easily reachable when sitting, then moved Hector beside it on the same row. That pair is braced neatly by the two modules that were already there, Kaseta and an 8HP Ornament and Crime.
The USB cable from a Korg NanoKontrol2 now reaches the MM, so that's nifty for some extra erm, control.
Would love to hear your thoughts on using it…

I’m wondering if there is ever a time you would create a patch directly from the device, or does it make more sense to start in VCV first. Do you find that you want/need their expansion modules for it, or are there enough knobs on MM to cover most things?

will do, once ive had proper time to play.

for single modules, definitely from device
for a small number of modules, maybe up to 3 or 4 from device, but would probably depend on whether the signal and control chain is fairly 'linear'
for anything more complex, VCV

The slight problem with VCV, though, is that there's no obvious way to filter out the modules that arent MM compatible. Maybe 4mS could do a fork of Cardinal.

I thin the NanoKontrol helps a bit, but maybe, in the longer term. It would depend on cost, but more of all the IO would obviously be good-erer. But the price is going to add up, going by the way they're pitching them ie, one expander per 'type' ie one for 8 more buttons, one for 8 more knobs, one for more CV/audio IO, one for more gate IO.

I think I'd prefer more 'mixed' expanders instead, IMO would be better to see a '4 buttons+4knobs' expander and an 'audio/CV IO +gates IO' expander.
my other modular synth is a bugbrand

Thank you! I know someone else mentioned that currently, there’s no way to interact with VCV module buttons, such as on the Mutable Instrument ports. I’m sure more updates to come especially if this takes off with users.

I’m also guessing the MM page will have more info soon.

For now, I’m really enjoying the 4ms modules in VCV. I always wanted to try out PEG, so this is great.

My MEGAfm arrived this morning (all the way from Nice) 3 days earlier than expected ...

I really wish VCV had some kind of custom tag thing. Its own categories are not terribly consistent, and only having one "Favorites" option to customize isn't much.

Just ordered a Shure 565SD and an Oberheim TEO-5.

Those prices are crazy! But, that does make it as safe a purchase as you can make.

Do you only use MN modules for envelopes on yours? I love Contour the most for taming transients. I can always create different shapes with maths but curious if you have any preferences for using QMMG some ways more than others.

I’m at bit of a crossroads as I only have a little flexible space to swap modules

I frequently use a channel of Maths or Function to modulate a channel of the QMMG, but I'll often route that CV generator through another QMMG channel of it's own, in VCA or LPF mode. It passes DC, so it can do some cool CV processing and of course control the amount of modulation. I typically have two channels set in HPF and LPF mode in series to act as a variable bandwidth BPF, and in that case, I frequently use my Five12 Q-VL for modulation.

mine will be posted out in the next couple of business days :D

if the customs is around what i expect it to be, it was actually cheaper going this route, than if id got it from one of the uk stockists.
