Spitfire just went from most to least liked company in my house.

Time to go completely offline, use that PC for 10 years or so and then see what's new.

I spent THOUSANDS to support this company over the years hoping they would do better. I'm done giving another red cent to this shady, selfish company. Ive nothing but headaches over the years with their libraries and snarky attitudes from customer support. The LABS thing was the last straw.

They didn't even ASK people if they wanted a new player that could only be used offline. They just snuck it in. When I tried to roll back the Spitfire installer just self updated and no go. I got SERIOUS attitude about all of it from the customer reps. My old Jingle bells library that I had used in 2 projects just wont open. Went round and round on the discord for months with them just telling me tough S**t. Libraries riddled with inconsistencies that are never fixed or take years (10 years to fix the speed function on the short notes in Albion 1) BS pricing practices and A SEPARATE PLAYER FOR EVERY LIBRARY now. WTF is that? One of them doesn't even work with the new ARM Macs and they just abandoned it. Good job looking out for your customers. It was CREATED during Apples transition to the ARM chip. SINE is one player. VSL is one player. No. One player for EACH library. Now they are selling out and going with Splice to Make us pay MORE money. Not having it. I'm spreading the word to steer clear of this company (don't get me started on the Transphobic nonsense from Christian Henson)

Oh yeah. A few years back they had a forum site. Thousands of complaints about all kinds of bugs and issues with their products. What did they do? Completely deleted the entire forum and any record of all of it. I went to log in one day to see if anything had been fixed and... GONE. No more forum pages. Worst company ever.

End rant

Oh just found out that VSL has Free Jingle bells that sound WAY better than the ones in LABS. Win.

It seems to me that if one is still interested in (free) LABS and don't have projects tied to the old one, it would be easier to just download from scratch with the new player....which I just did for one, but God only knows where it was installed to (and you aren't given any choice). The old LABS sucked that way too as I recall.

Browsing through the packs, there are a few others I could see using, but nothing I couldn't live without or otherwise use something else to get that sound tbh.

IIRC, VSL requires ilok. Lose (for me).
