Need help understanding this guitar tone

The guitar tone on this album seems a bit unusual. It's hard to explain, but it's like there are really specific overtones constantly 'poking' above the rest of the notes. What do you think it is, and how can I get a similar sound?

It's loads and loads of wah wah all over as far as I could hear in first track.
- it goes trebly if that is what you hear doing the toe thing on a wah

Thanks. So the wah is being played in a fixed position? And about the layers, do you think they're all playing the exact same riff, or are they different? And different gear for each layer?

No, there is throttling wah too, but a couple of bars in full toe position with treble, then lifted back.

The guitar tone on this album also seems somewhat unusual. At 3:24, you can hear both left and right soloed, and at 43:22, you can hear one guitar soloed.



What I find strange about it is the massive amount of sub and 'air' frequencies, and it sounds very smooth.

Also the fact that you can hear the single guitar at 43:22 is stereo, but in a way I don't understand. As you can see, there is significant decorrelation all the way down to the lowest frequencies, it sounds fine in mono:

And the correlation of these frequencies is identical as the stereo image of the two guitars at 3:24:

Some distortion pedal for sure, cannot say which one is most typical.
- some wah pedals are combined with a fuzz circuit as well

Most flexible dist pedal I have is KMA Machines Chief Disruptor

- lots of eq options as well as other stuff to shape tone

Most flexible wah for me is Dunlop MC404 CAE
- two different inductors and even trim pots inside to adjust to liking
