What are MIDI Bits?
Like the word says they are small bits of midi data, they can be used as MIDI loops.
A typical example of a host where they can be used is Ableton Live or Energy XT, where they could be loaded as MIDI loops.

The first pack contains drum bits in 16 beats rock style.
The drum loops are not quantized, they are played like a real drummer would play them.
The following styles are included :
- 16 Beat Ballad 1
- 16 Beat Ballad 2
- 70 Pop
- Mellow Rock
- Pop Ballad 1
- Pop Ballad 2
- R&B
- R&B 2
- Slow Pop
- Upbeat R&B

All in all, 70 Midi bits included in this package

For each style you get
- Variation 1a and variation 1b, which can be used in the chorus of a song
- Break A, a one bar break loop that can be used in variation 1 or just before Variation b
- Variation 2a and variation 2b
- Break B , a one bar break loop that can be used in variation 2
- End , a one or two bar ending

If you have comments, requests, thanks,... please leave them in our guestbook.

The file is available at www.karamusicsite.com on the MIDI Bits page.
Please let me know if this is usable, worthless, or anything else...

I can not download it. It says something about limited security.

Post

Hm, I just tested it and it works :?
Are you sure you can download zip-files ?

Can anyone else try, please

There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Yep, I downloaded using IE with no problems - both by left clicking on the link, and by right clicking and using "Save Target As..."

Ronny I am at work right now so I can't test it, but I ll try it tonight so I ll report tomorrow.
Are they in GM format? What drum sampler , instrument , soundfont are you using. I only have sfz and some nice soundfonts (nskit included) to check them.

BTW the problem with the download may be due to SP2 (arrrghhhh)

Thanks again for sharing your work and congratulations for commenting on every post @Cafe. I 've been a little bit lazy lately

Hi zeoy

Yes there are in GM format, no programm assignements or tempo in it. So perfect to load up as loop.

I'm using the same : sfz and nskit or titanic soundfont.
I use allso EXT with the sampler and WAV sample for every drum.
I'm planning to use DR008 allso.

How does the titanic SF sound? I mean are the drums better than ns? I know "better" is very personal but give me your opinion.

If you are interrested I found another drum kit soundfont wich IMHO sounds better than nskit but it's not GM. The name of the soundfont is (I think) "really natural REMO drums" but I can't find a link right now. I am sure this was available when I checked about 1 month ago.

Well, what is better if you know what I mean...

For some type of music I find nskit a bit heavy and in that case I use titanic.

I have allso EDIROLL Hyper quartet which is not bad, it all depends on the type of music you make.
