Anyone have any idea why the Ableton Live scanner might be throwing this error after I installed Windows 11 on a new studio computer? They worked just fine in Windows 10 so that's my best guess about what has change. I get this error in the logfile.

They are deprecated by Izotope so I don't expect any support but I will try emailing them as well. Anyone else having similar issues on windows 11 with Ableton Live 12.0 ?
Thanks!

I am realizing now that SSL Native Vocalstrip 2 and Soundtoys little plate are also giving the same error even though all these plugins scan and run fine on my Windows 10 laptop.

Go back to Windows 10. If I wasn't testing stuff for my articles, I would. As far as I'm concerned, Microsoft has the development engine in reverse in terms of user experience. Increasingly intrusive and dictatorial as well.

I don't believe this is the case, so you should be good with support: Stratus and Symphony are their 'newest' ones - it's R2, R4, PhoenixVerb, NIMBUS & Excalibur that are the deprecated editions of Exponential Audio's reverbs.Gavincoolguy wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2024 2:01 pm They are deprecated by Izotope so I don't expect any support but I will try emailing them as well

I don't disagree that Windows 11 feels like a virus from the 90s but unfortunately with the processor I have i dont think I have much of a choice. It seems scheduler patches are gonna be hitting windows 11 first and windows 10 maybe never which is why I decided to bite the bullet on 11. But it is a mess even ilok/uad isn't working properly and the hotfix sucks. I would go straight back to 10 if it didn't involve another entire day of installing 500 plugins but maybe I have no choice. I'm hopeful things will get patched up over the coming months. Luckly my only problems are from the big guys so I hope they have a financial motivation to get it together.jonljacobi wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 3:43 pm Go back to Windows 10. I did put in a ticket and received an email that it had been escalated so I have some hope it gets sorted. I really love stratus and symphony. They are the only software I hold multiple licenses of.mcbpete wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 3:54 pmI don't believe this is the case, so you should be good with support: Stratus and Symphony are their 'newest' ones - it's R2, R4, PhoenixVerb, NIMBUS & Excalibur that are the deprecated editions of Exponential Audio's reverbs.Gavincoolguy wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2024 2:01 pm They are deprecated by Izotope so I don't expect any support but I will try emailing them as well

I've got the '3d' version of Stratus and Symphony but just booted up Ableton 12 (with Windows 11) and both vst3s are listed under the Exponential Audio folder in plugins (I also have Little Plate [vst3] too and it's listed in plugins also)
Maybe you could force a rescan of the folder by unticking the 'Use VST3 Plugin System Folders' setting in Ableton's Settings -> Plugins tab then re-ticking it. Failing that maybe try a reinstall of those 4 plugins ?
Definitely stick with W11 though, support is ending for 10 in about a year's time.

Argh, back to the drawing board I guess I have reinstalled the last 3 versions, tried changing the names of the vsts and even installed reaped which shows them as failed to scan so now I have no idea what to try next. Thanks for the feedback.mcbpete wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:36 pm I've got the '3d' version of Stratus and Symphony but just booted up Ableton 12 (with Windows 11) and both vst3s are listed under the Exponential Audio folder in plugins (I also have Little Plate [vst3] too and it's listed in plugins also)

Well I'm sad to say that ILOK is broken on Ryzen 9000 processors. I wish I had realized before I wiped my Windows 11 install. I am currently installing Windows 10 after a fresh install of Windows 11 failed to change the outcome. The hotfix they gave out on reddit only works with UAD software but everything else is broken. If it doesn't work in Windows 10 then it will be back to Windows 11.. again. I will wait patiently because what else can I do. This is warning to anyone else who is thinking about upgrading hardware that again everything ILOK is broken on the newest AMD processors. They have known about the problem for a month now with no fix.
Edit: it doesn't work on windows 10 either.

Yikes, just seen this FAQ as I couldn't believe it'd affect an entire processor range but I was wrong, it's even more than just the 9000s - it's a whole microarchitectureGavincoolguy wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2024 3:55 am Well I'm sad to say that ILOK is broken on Ryzen 9000 processors
