W10 Asio4All, no problem. I hardly use my Presonus AudioBox so I can't tell outside of the Asio4All usage.BBFG# wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 3:58 pm Already stated in this thread. They seem to believe it's the ASIO drivers for Windows with interfaces they never have and don't want to test rather than fix their handling of them. And again, version 4 worked great in that regard.
Now contemplating which DAW to move to. Cubase is working solid for now, but has never been my favorite.
Testing of Bitwig Studio 5.2 or .3 or .4 ...

Yep, tried that one too. Works in every app/DAW except Bitwig. Also tried Steinberg's General Low Latency, DirectX and Roland's ASIO. All with the same result. WASAPI does work, however the output is barely audible and so low that turning it up to hear makes it unbearably distorted. Only the Roland driver has the proper output.liquidsound wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:50 pmW10 Asio4All, no problem. Bitwig is saying that's the best they can do.

Man! That's strange. If mine works, then it's something with your system and Bitwig combination. I would drill down to the freaking bottom of the earth to solve it.BBFG# wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:59 pmYep, tried that one too. Works in every app/DAW except Bitwig. If for some users there are no issues than it's not just Bitwig or Windows but the combinations of the two in your system and it must have a solution because it shows that it works for other Bitwig users...

They say it's Roland and admit they have never tested their software with it. They also admit they haven't tested Steinberg and they won't unless they get more complaints about them. Both are updated by Windows, so the drivers, in and of themselves are not the issue. I literally have a couple of hundred apps that work perfectly with them. Which means the one thing that does have a problem with it is the problem. That is Bitwig 5 (Bitwig 4 worked fine as well). And their system is not allowing me to roll back to 4 either.
And this is the circle we keep going round in.

Why can't you go back to 4? What is the system preventing you. I am sure if you ask the support they can give you a step by step.BBFG# wrote: Mon Sep 16, 2024 7:11 pm They say it's Roland and admit they have never tested their software with it. They won't let me authorize it (4) now. Support has not gotten back to me on this, but at the beginning of all this, I do remember them saying that this would be a downgrade they didn't allow. Just not sure if that's the same person I've been working with on these other issues. But the communication that was happening every other day has seemingly stopped. It's been five days, and hopefully they're working on it. But I'll send another email tomorrow. Right now, I'm going back and forth between Cubase and Waveform. But not recording anything and it's getting close to a month of this...

would be great if they would do something with the piano roll as an editor; it's still not AL quality. I'm referring to input and editing without using a mouse functions like these ones

very very comfy with Push(or even from keyboard), at the moment, the only things I'm missing are this and the MIDI capturing

Push Is a dream in Live. Not so in Bitwig. I appreciate all the work moss has done on the scripts but general navigation and drum programing (without a nudge function to move notes offgrid) are simply not there.xbitz wrote: Tue Sep 17, 2024 8:01 am would be great if they would do something with the piano roll as an editor; it's still not AL quality. This seems very strange, as you seem to have Version 4 installed on your system and Bitwig also has this official page to download installers of older versions: https://www.bitwig.com/de/previous_releases/ ...

Yes. I made the mistake of uninstalling 4 when I installed 5.GGaudio7 wrote: Wed Sep 18, 2024 11:41 pmThis seems very strange, as you seem to have Version 4 installed on your system and Bitwig also has this official page to download installers of older versions: https://www.bitwig.com/de/previous_releases/ ...
Support got back to me today and said it was because I upgraded and now it doesn't see 4 on my account. They're trying to accommodate me here and I have to make a separate account for it. I also tried to install 5.0 to see if that had the same issue and it does.
They also told me they're trying to get ahold of a Tascam interface to work on it but they seem to not be as willing to get a Roland and Steinberg interface (yet). I'm also looking at the cheap Zoom interface (which they can't confirm yet as well).
Version 4 (in Demo mode works without issue though).

... oh, okay, I originally thought it would be easier, and that a key for 5 would be also working for 4 ...BBFG# wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 1:23 am ... I upgraded and now it doesn't see 4 on my account....

Hope you/they work it out soon!

I really wish they would improve the arranger view, not wasting so much space with labels etc. and instead filling it with actual information. Zoomiing in current note data in the blocks. NOt just showing tiny hair lines which are so small that you also simply could remove it... Cubase is very great here. Then stuff like expand selected track or group manually and auto. Or opening two pianorolls stacked on top. Real step recording in the pianoroll...
Well, not happening... It's a awesome daw for sure, but still not Renoise

I'm a MIDI / VSTi type of guy and I need the kind of workflow where I won't forget my ideas while clicking windows open/closed and doing dropdown menus/etc.
Lately I've been having trouble with Reaper's MIDI bothering my workflow: the quantization is overly complex and "fiddly"/klunky/janky.
So, I've been testing some other DAW's lately. Bitwig came up so I've been checking it out again tonight.
I'm running the Windows version on Linux with ASIO:FL STUDIO ASIO and it's working OK. I don't have my MIDI keyboard connected yet, but BitWig seemed to find my VSTi's and some presets automagically. I'm only running in demo mode, but it's okay.
I just wanted to let you guys know that BitWig over Linux via Wine/Yabridge is still a happening thing. I've barely scratched the surface, but BitWig seems doable on Linux via Wine/Yabridge in 2024.

i gave em a hard fight since 4.2.0 to not go the upgrade path, but the offer with filterscape knocked me out^^. and tbh the klevgrand slammer offer was a gem besides. in fact its so good i think aboutp ut moneys aside to get that nifty little e-drummer setup from the klevgrand slammer video.
and what i see so far looks good. have to get used to the new content sorting. how about a mid capture now?
