or oleo strut by Mother Mallard's Portable Masterpiece Company. its the long sound that goes on for a while. any ideas what instrument was used for this? i managed to find the chords for the other track btw. thank you for all your help so far

Sounds like a horn. You could try some brass sample library.
I got similar sound using Kontakt Symphony Series Brass Solo, 'Horn 2 Sustain' preset. Added a low-pass filter with slow envelope and adjusted the amp envelope a bit.
