Hopefully I am able to save someone from the full work week of hours I just lost. iLoK is completely broken on all new Ryzen 9000 series processors. They have produced a hot fix that kind of works with UAD plugins and that's about it. You can read more at:
https://help.ilok.com/faq_ilm.html#amd_zen_5
You will see that they seem to wash their hands of the issue and place the blame on AMD.

The arrogance of saying it's a 'Bug' in the new AMD CPU's, it could never be their ancient spaghetti code, I remember a veteran synth developer of having major problem with memory corruption with their Synth vsts when used in conjunction with plugins using Pace protection on projects.
The smallest minority on earth is the individual.

Well, if its only having issues on that particular series of chips and no others, it prob is a problem with the chip, wouldn't be the first time that's ever happened.
But yea that sucks...

But their software is by its very nature doing lots of crazy stuff, usually undocumented. It wouldn't be a surprise either if they are at fault for not following published specs.

I have always favoured Intel CPU's and always will.
Though I am genuinely sorry to hear of this trouble. Horrible situation to be in, stressful.

The hot-fix is working for me with 9950x.
I've tested the 9950x under many circumstances... and thus far... the iLok has been the only stumbling block.
I contacted them... and within 24-hours, I was running the hot-fix.
BTW, The Reddit link mentioned the hot-fix not working with SSL plugins. The SSL plugins work fine here.
Thunderbolt-4 is rock-solid.
The 9950x is a great DAW performer.
It offers the performance of a 14900k... at lower TDP.
It's as rock-solid as my 14900k.
Compatibility and optimization are on developers.

I was a bit worried with Intel's problems with the 13th and 14th gen, but the fault has been identified, but won't fix degradation that has started though.Synthman2000 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 6:46 am I have always favoured Intel CPU's and always will.

I swing both ways CPU-wise nowadays.

Thanks for the actionable info the hotfix that was available on Reddit really sucked. I'm emailing them now.Jim Roseberry wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2024 9:32 am The hot-fix is working for me with 9950x.

It just seems to me, if that were the case it
would manifest elsewhere, rather than just
one series, the new models even, which implies no problems on earlier generations.
Anyway, thats what the logic implies.
I dont think it speaks poorly of AMD, thats
just how it goes when you have to support
instrucion sets and whatnot that are specified
by other manufacturers. AMD has their own
share of propretary technologies that fit
into the same category as well.

They emailed me the same hotfix that was on Reddit but of course the link is dead now. With that hotfix ssl vocal strip didnt work nor neuraldsp but some people also reported that some plugins from vendors worked while other plugins from the same vendor did not work. That's the camp I'm in so the wait continues.

Bummer. It’s never fun to be shot in the foot by copy protection—it hurts the honest more than the pirates.
C/R, dongles & other intrusive copy protection equals less-control & more-hassle for consumers. Company gone-can’t authorize. Limit to # of auths. Instability-ie PACE. Forced internet auths. THE HONEST ARE HASSLED, NOT THE PIRATES.
