Try LightHost and load vst2/vst3 fx of your choice.
"A simple VST/AU, crossplatform host for OS X, Windows, and Linux that sits in the menubar."

LightHost fork by koteq (his fork is newer than the orginal by Rolando Islas)
https://github.com/koteq/LightHost/releases/tag/v1.3.0
or another fork based of koteq`s fork:
https://github.com/koteq/LightHost/forks

and proberly VB-Audio - Voicemeeter

But I`m sure there are a lot more systemwide fx apps.
It`s not a bug... it`s a feature!

System wide - or as the last link in the chain?

I use Sennheiser Flex 5000 wireless phone system for most listening.
- little cigarr on chest and connect any phone of your choice

It also has multiband compression option to make talk pop out, with a simple click on a button.
- and there are other eq settings, not freely set, but a couple thought out models

Not sure.. What chain do you refer to? I have no chain in windows audio.
I know there's a eq effect that can be used system wide, called equaliser apo - and it's very good.
I'm looking for more such programs, specifically compressor.

Any good information about this? I can't figure out how github works, to me it's never obvious what's the actual installation Exe or where to find info on what exactly it is. I really hate github lol. Do you have another link where I can read about what it is and how it works? Thanks

Ps. I'm confused what voicemeter have to do with anything. That's a great app but what it does is enable you to reroute your different inputs and outputs (in software) as you want. Very useful. But it doesn't have eq or compression or anything like that so your comment is confusing to me.

Thimeo Stereo Tool will do this in standalone. The same software used by a lot of radio stations to process their audio over the airwaves:

I don't use it in standalone so I haven't tried that yet. On the site it says you can route audio from anywhere in your system through Stereo Tool to your audio card. There is documentation on the site that explains it.

But yeah I'm not sure if that is what you are looking for, I posted because you said you wanted compression which Stereo Tool does since they use compression for radio broadcasts. Maybe it's overkill for what you are looking for though.

Download the LightHost exe, save it to a folder and start it. There is no installer.
https://github.com/koteq/LightHost/rele ... htHost.exe

After that, you`ll find a new icon in your taskbar. Left and right click on the LightHost icon to configure and load your fx plugins.

BUT, you also need a "virtual audio cable" which routes windows audio to LightHost. e.g. https://vb-audio.com/Cable/

Install vac and then configure in LightHost preferences/audio settings: output to "your audio device" and input to "Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)".

Last step, click on the taskbar windows speaker icon (or in Windows settings ->System -> Sound -> sound output device) and change the output device to "Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)".

Hope that helps.

I had the impression that eq and compression was included at least in one edition of voicemeeter and that you can route your windows audio thru it.
