That in and off itself is an indictment of the company however

NI should be making their own libraries not relying on other organizations to make content for their products

All of those libraries work with the last version of Kontact most of them work with the last several versions, if that is what your user base uses your product for there is zero reason for them to to buy your new product

All of my Kontact Libraries work just fine with my current version of Kontact, I have zero need or desire to upgrade to a new version

All of the Synths in Komplete that I used to use daily have been ignored for so long I now use other companies Synths which are significantly better

If I have interest to drop the cash on a new sample library, it simply won't be for Kontact. There are to many other viable options in 2024

I spend $1,000 or more every year on audio software, it's doubtful NI will ever see another dime, which is a shame because a new version of Komplete was always an instant no brainer buy for me

A better, more modern version of Kontakt would be welcome, but I'm really hoping that they've completely reworked MassiveX into a more user friendly interface with standard LFO assignment (drag the LFO to the knob), less finicky controls, more user friendly MSEG editing, and a more common sense FM assignment system. Massive X sounds so good, but the interface is a total dud.

Not holding my breath on NI actually making real improvements to the UI, but man can dream...

so much meh. they're doing this "added value" thing with loads of sample library content and throwing in other plug ins from their partners to sweeten the pot a little.. but it's not very interesting and there's little to no reason for existing users to update.

captain obvious preaching to the choir, i know. all the filler is just annoying. i don't want or need another 50gb-80gb of sample content.. or whatever it is.

i'll keep using the NI things i like for as long as they work but with so many options i'm not inspired to give them any money for komplete version updates. compatibility, maintenance, efficiency updates would be more useful.

Is written or will be written anywhere what's new? And by new i mean new stuff, not something already released that will be present in Komplete

Post

I am honestly still shocked about their update prices. I mean an update from k14 ultimate to k15 ultimate would only cost me 180 less than to k15 collectors (and on Black friday only 50-100).
It's a bit dissapointing.
But nontheless I will do it. I'm not so excited about the Izotope stuff cause I already got it and the actual NI mixinh stuff is way CPU friendlier, but I'm excited for some of New libraries and the stradivari cello (stradivari violin is allready amazing with its aftertouch vibrato).
What would have been cool, would have been a dedicated trigger pluggin or trigger option/audio input to midi note for kontakt, that could have been an amazing update.
To be honest most of us will be annoyed and sqitch later due to compabillity issues with a library anyways😅

In the Synthanatomy article it says there are not updates to Massive X, but on NI's Komplete 15 page it describes Massive X as "Rethought, rewired, and reincarnated for the next decade of sound..." which if they didn't update Massive X for 15 and are instead referring to MX vs the OG Massive, that would be incredibly deceptive marketing.

I guess we'll find out soon enough....

That’s what they’re referring to. It’s been on the MX product page since the beginning.

Five years ago in 2019 when Massive X came out they said it "Rethought, rewired, and reincarnated for the next decade of sound." So we have 5 years left

Is there a chance that Devine intervention made Kontakt 8 multi-touch capable?
Are there any Native Instruments plugins multi-touch capable?

Thank you for the link.

Kontakt comes in different vst3 versions each release or if i have a project made with an older version, will be just loaded with the new one?

If you own, say, Kontakt 5, Kontakt 7, and now Kontakt 8, you will see three different VST3 plugins, each for one version.

The main new things in Kontakt are MIDI tools that create chord progressions and phrases for you, Leap, which is NI's version of Output Arcade, and Conflux, a wavetable/sampler instrument in Kontakt. The MIDI tools will also be available in Kontakt Player once it updates.

Many more sampled instruments, many more play instruments, many more expansions, plus Guitar Rig 7 Pro, Ozone 11 and VocalSynth 2. Nothing new for synths.

Yes, if:

1. Your host is Cubase or Logic and
2. You remove every earlier vst version from the DAWs plugin folder(s).

Pretty disappointing TBH. Especially given the cost of upgrading.

It’s a joke. They want $400 from me for a bunch of crap that I have zero interest in. No thanks. A new Kontakt would be good, but it doesn’t seem that interesting. Do they have anyone in software development working there?
