Hi. It's been far too long. My wife passed away, I had some hospital-y health issues, and an operation or two. Not to mention, I forgot my password. Good to be back.

Anyway, has anyone seen Khaelis Unov? It seems to be something I can use for cleaning up sloppy tracks.

Edit: Oops. Maybe this could have gone in Best Freeware 32-bit, but it sold for $99. I have the link to the Wayback Machine page.

Unfortunately the two audio examples haven't been captured by the Wayback machine, but from the diagram it looks like the DeClip section of Acon Digital's Restoration suite (same price too!) - https://acondigital.com/products/restoration-suite

I've used Izotope Rx for years but i haven't updated in a while. I will be getting Acon Digital (if i even feel the need, can't remember which version i have but it works quite well, as does Acon),

add: It depends on how much you need to use it and how good it needs to be, if only for a few recordings and it just needs to be good, then the free option is probably best, if it's a lot of recordings and/or you need higher quality i'd recommend Acon Digital Restoration Suite also, it's a great deal at $99 imo.

I tried downloading Khaelis Unov from the Wayback Machine, but the connection times out. I guess whatever was there is lost to the ages. Pity.

Just downloaded Accusonus era bundle, so I'll give it a spin.

EDIT: Oh, fu(dge)! Acusonus is Win 11, and I'm on a Win 7 from 2014.

I used to use Soundsoap and it was good. Avid bought the company, and it says Win 7 or higher, & it's $99. (I got a cut down version included with software, but surprisingly effective.)

Perfect Declipper is better than RX or Acon's offerings, IMO. https://www.thimeo.com/stereo-tool/ Seems to be used a lot in FM broadcasting (they even make a hardware unit especially for that)

Unfortunately, you can't buy it separately, but it's in the basic version of Stereo Tool. With the Advanced Dynamics removed from the bundle the price comes down to EUR115. Would be nice if there were just a VST / standalone version though.

There is a demo of the latest version available from the old perfect declipper site, http://perfectdeclipper.com/ which might be enough if you're only processing shortish samples.

MyAudioFactory has just released a new declipper named ProAudioDeclipper, which is said to offer superior performance. A performance comparison with Perfect Declipper can be found on the following website: https://myaudiofactory.com/.

If I remember correctly, Terry West offers (ed) a de clipper the works very nicely and is free.

I found out FL Edison has an AI declip function now. I have also used the one in Audacity on a clipped track and it worked quite well.

After listening to the demos, this one seems to be the best option availabe.
But indeed the price is steep.
Not that it’s high for what it does, as it seems amazing, but for my needs, no intro offer is a major flaw for me. I’ll wait until black friday. If nothing happens, I’ll wait until christmas. And so on.
Sorry, I don’t have a horrible sounding file every day, only a few I’d like to try to repair. And I’d love to try it on drums to find out what I can get : more punch or not, when the transients are heavily clipped. In a few words it totally looks like a random results tool to me : $99 simply for trying to get something better sometimes is too much.
Just to make you realize what your potential customers may be after.

In fact, individual users and early adopters don't need to wait for Black Friday to enjoy significant discounts. Contact us via our website to inquire about this exclusive offer.
