Studio One Feature Request

I can agree too, that "Presonus" isn't anymore as worthwhile for me as they were some years ago. I am happy, that I left the ship, although I am still looking from time to time if something is going on. Their homepage and the marketing is so confusing, addons cannot be bought without a subscription (they said there will be a new shop - but till now nothing's there). First it was Presonus Sphere, now it is called hybrid or plus. I'm in doubt, that their actual way is successfull. We will see.

For me as long as I stick to perpetual and ignore the fluff, Presonus is fine. They haven't pay walled a feature in the DAW for pro users, nor have they forced me at any time to choose between perpetual and hybrid. I don't personally care about Sphere, Hybrid, or whatever. I just want the DAW. I already have plenty of plugins, sounds, and samples which imo are higher quality than the stuff Presonus offers anyway.musikertimo wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 7:49 am I can agree too, that "Presonus" isn't anymore as worthwhile for me as they were some years ago. Ignore.
What sound do dreams make when they die?

Presonus has had feature requests for their lackluster browser to get updated for years and they havent even attempted to make changes. I don’t see the point in asking for features from them anymore when Cubase has pretty much everything and more. The only thing I prefer is their macro features over Cubase and the ability to ping pong loop in sample one vs Cubases sampler.

A leaked screenshot of Studio One 7 appears to show the feature this thread was meant to request! If it is real, of course that means it was in the works long before I posted this request.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

It takes mere seconds to ALT+Drag the end of the loop to make it faster or slower, then you just hit "D" a few times to duplicate it along the timeline. It hardly feels like something that needs a UI button, or even a right-click menu option.Hewitt Huntwork wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 8:49 pmFor me, the biggest challenge in using loops is that some sample makers program loops in halftime and they sound too fast in my projects. For producers who work in halftime, they have the opposite problem with standard tempo loops. Halftime and doubletime buttons located near the play and stop buttons of the file browser could allow us to preview and import a given loop at the right tempo feel for our projects. Stylus RMX has a feature like this, and it has both practical and creative benefits.
Yeah, and I want Studio One to buy me an ice cream every now and then. Again, it's no effort to drop it into a track and play with it in the arrangement. These requests seem very, very low priority to me.andypryce wrote: Sun Sep 01, 2024 8:31 pmOP wants to audition the loop ''in the browser'' synced to the song half/double time before dragging to the project.
Yeah, I thought we'd lost that access a couple of years ago. I don't think you can get to it from the Presonus website anymore, you kind of have to know it's there and have a link. It's front-and-centre in my bookmarks now.Hewitt Huntwork wrote: Sun Sep 01, 2024 9:54 pmThanks jamcat! I just posted there. I don't know how I missed it, because I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out where to post before resorting to posting here.

These are decisions we all make. I think the Browser is fine. In fact, I think it's really good, it does everything I need it to and a lot of extra stuff on top. e.g. I've never bothered to favourite anything. I'm not sure why because it would save me time here and there. But then it would cost me time to favourite things, too, so it never happens.trusampler wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 8:07 pm Presonus has had feature requests for their lackluster browser to get updated for years and they havent even attempted to make changes. It's the same for all of us. For me, there is one feature that keeps me using Studio One and I bet it's something you don't give a shit about - being able to load up a whole set, 20 or more songs, before a gig and then go from one to the next in a second or two, instead of having to stand around on stage waiting for each song to load (or for Cubase to initialise them). That's it, that's the one and only thing that keeps me on Studio One and makes me put up with the crashing and other shit that it puts me through on a regular basis. You find the tool that works best for your needs and you put up with the things that maybe could be better. Not much different to any relationship, really.

That’s a fantastic idea! Having halftime and doubletime buttons in Studio One’s file browser would make working with loops so much easier. As someone who often switches between different tempos, this would definitely streamline my workflow. I’ve seen similar features in other tools like Stylus RMX, and it’s super helpful for both previewing and getting creative with loops. Also, for those dealing with large sample libraries, this could save a lot of time when previewing loops at the right tempo. Hopefully, enough Studio One+ users can push this forward.
