Waldorf MicroWave as a plugin?

As long as you keep the 'Osc Vol' dials at or below the default level then it doesn't come in to play. If you turn them further to the right then the outer ring around the dials has a red indicator as a visual reminder.
Edit: Having investigated a bit more with the oscillators I'm not so sure that the comment I wrote above is true...carry on

I personally haven’t heard a WT synth with this tone. Other than the DSP5300 stuff which I also love, but this sounds even better.
Hats off to Waldorf, this is exactly the way to do it !! A Blofeld would be an obvious move next due to its popularity. Everything Waldorf made has been amazing imo

I know it was Terratec but a new Komplexer would be great.

Did Komplexer do anything that Xenia doesn’t do? Real question, I never used Komplexer.

Komplexer = waldorf MicroQ
Xenia = waldorf microwave II /XT
Vavra is the emulation of MicroQ , you can import custom wavetables into komplexer, including microQ WT1 and WT2,and load factory banks...altough i don't know why some patches dont sound the same when comparing komplexer to Vavra.

Terratec did make a Microwave XT 'PC' though.. But yeah it was just an XT, no more, no less.
Installed inside one of the cd drive bays in your PC case.

Ah, that's what I was thinking of. So Komplexer was a native plugin?

Yeah it was a VST plugin. I don't really remember much about it, I had a MicroQ at the time so didnt really follow up on its siblings haha. I did like the XT PC though! The thought of having one right there inside the case instead of this big rack beast was nice, but those knobs always win, so I never got one.

Komplexer was a mess. It sounded great but the arp would lose sync and it was forever asking for the install CD to authorize, then apparently Terratec abandoned it.

//Before I get too carried away singing the praises of Komplexer, I should mention I did have a significant problem with it. When I tried programming in the Main window, my music computer turned to molasses. Both mouse movement and playback were glitchy whenever I played a note, and CPU use jumped to 100 percent. //

I had Komplexer, and I remember when Largo came out I did a side by side and they were similar enough to not have both, so I sold my Komplexer license before they went away. I'm not saying it was a 1:1 replacement but I didn't miss Komplexer.

Did anyone catch how long Waldorf said it took them to create this new Microwave plugin ?
This is the fastest I’ve ever seen them get out releases. ( Beta ) and it’s very welcome. Plus the UI team seems like they’re at a different level now. I’m hoping this is a permanent sign of good things to come in the near future.

The main difference is that Komplexer had a really nice gui while Largo went from bad to abysmal.zerocrossing wrote: Sat Sep 21, 2024 9:49 pmI had Komplexer, and I remember when Largo came out I did a side by side and they were similar enough to not have both, so I sold my Komplexer license before they went away. I remember demoing Largo and it just didn't do anything for me.
