Hello all,

I would like to ask something that is on my mind for a while.
I'm using Presonus 1824c interface with Studio One, which works quite fine but I'd like to add on of the smaller UAD Apollo to this setup just to track my vocals with DSP effects without latency but I don't know how can I do it or if it's even possible.

I think there should be some routing going on to work with both but I'm not that experienced regarding the subject.

If this is possible, I'm thinking of buying Apollo Solo Thunderbolt Heritage Edition but I'm not sure if it has DSP capabilities and if it has will it be enough?

I'll use it to only track/monitor vocals with effects like AutoTune, Compressor, EQ and Reverb. That's it.

Thanks.

You should start by mentioning whether you're on Windows or OSX...

I've done it 25 years ago on Windows: record with two soundblaster PCI card. Without ASIO. Still it baffles me clock drift was no issue.
MacOs has "aggregate device" feature built in.

Needs more info. As Jens has asked, what platform are you on? Also, are you asking how to use these simultaneously, or swap between them as needed? ASIO4all can do aggregate devices on Windows, but its perhaps going to lose you the advantages of the existing drivers for those devices.

Also worth knowing; are you wanting to have them unconnected from each other, or would you perhaps find it better to connect via ADAT, which the 1824c offers; the Solo doesnt appear to offer ADAT but other Apollo's do.

Yes, sorry about that. I'm on Windows, I don't want to use ASIO4All at all as I had some troubles with it some time ago.

The setup I'm looking for is:

Use monitors and one of the headphones through 1824c
Use synths and guitar recs, etc through 1824c
Use mic through Apollo (using DSP fx with low latency) and a headphone for tracking

I need to use them at the same time so I can't disconnect or deselect one of them within the DAW.

I heard about ADAT but I don't know how it's configured and what it really does, if I understood correctly I can connect Apollo and 1824c through ADAT and select one of the inputs of ADAT1/2 on the DAW to record through Apollo while 1824c is the main interface, but I don't know how I'm going to hear myself with DSP effects through Apollo to my ears.

Make sure to turn off Exclusive Mode for both devices' drivers

Having spend Wayyy too much time fighting with ASIO4All and multiple drivers, and soundcards, I have decided that its really not worth it. Sell something else, buy a bigger soundcard, get it over with. That's my take :)

I can recomnend VB-Audio Matrix

With their mixers, you can also combine several audio interfaces, I think.
